I'm a big fan of Bradt Travel Guides. Their Belize guidebook is excellent, packed with information, maps, a color photo section and lots of quirky sidebars. It was all I needed to plan my trip to Belize. I particularly enjoyed the General Information "People and Culture" and "Natural History" sections.
