How long do you give someone to respond?  Someone made me a BOB offer for an audio CD. I found an audio CD on her shelf that I'd like and accepted the offer.  I accepted over 2 days ago and there's been no response.  Someone else made me a BOB offer for the same audio cd today.  I haven't checked his shelf yet but I have traded with him before.  How long do I wait for the 1st person to finalize the BOB?  How long can I keep the 2nd offer pending incase the 1st one never responds?  Can I cancel the 1st one if I find something on the 2nd person's shelf that I'd like instead?

I would just let both transactions go and whichever one gets completely first gets the book. That's the great thing about BOB, the books stay on your shelf until both sides have accepted it. She has had plenty of time to either complete the transaction or let you know why she isn't . I always PMed when I got too busy letting the other member know I hadn't forgotten and wasn't just leaving them hang.

Argh. Now I have a 3rd BOB request for the same audio cd.  I'm going to deal with them all tomorrow.

Another nice thing about BOB is that you have complete control over which transaction you participate in and which ones you dont. In this case, you can always shop for the best choice for you. I usually open the members shelf outside of the BOB page, then you can check each one without having to save the box on the BOB page. Once you click "Save" the other member will get the counter offer and then can "close" the deal by accepting the offer. It is harder to undo the BOB after that.

As for declining a BOB offer, if I cant find anything I would like, I usually offer a 2 for 1 deal in my PM telling them that I hope we can do a BOB at another time. I have had a some say no thanks and some take me up on my offer. It just feels better than the flat out no that I have gotten from some BOBers.
