I've participated in over 175 BOBs to date and so far (fingers crossed and I've been a good girl) I've only received postive responses.  That said I know I've sent out books that weren't pristine, but I think I have pretty high standards.  I've also tried to send a PM over any book that I discover an issue with (before sending it).

One thing is if you asked for x, y and z books then I pulled x, y and z books from my shelf.  I then made a final inspection of these books and accepted the offer.  I then wait until the other member accepted, printed my address label and mailed them off.

I've received quite a few books in BOBs that should have been given to the nearest thrift store.  I've had a couple of BOBs that never arrived (here and/or there) and the members have never responded to my PMs (3 different members are forever at the top of my pending bob list).

My question here is what is the deal with accepting an offer and then coming back later (or not) and saying oops, I don't have that book?  Or never telling me and sending me some other books with the oops, I didn't have the book(s) you requested so I sent these.

Why not, not accept the offer until the books are in your hands?  Or at the very least let me know what you don't have and pick what I want.

OK, now that my harangue is over, what do you put in your feedback.  I don't want to assault the person that sent it, but I would really like to just get the books I ask for.  I haven't complained over the ARC I received or the less than desirable stained, creased, or mutilated books I received, but I am tired of receiving rejects and any old thing in BOBs.

Thanks for your patience reading this and also for any  assistance.

I feel ya, I am a relatively new boxer, and most of my books are in like new condtion, not all but most. And while most of the books i have gotten from bob are in good shape. A couple, well i have been not so happy with, water stain, some..gunky who knows what on the cover, ect.

unfortunetly for me i wasnt paying the best of attention at first because I got so many books i just opened made sure they were all there and marked, with pos feedback. well i am gonna learn from that one for sure. i mean hey i dont ocassionaly mind a water stained (mildly) ect book but give me a heads up first I assume your books on  your bookshelf, it meets PBS guidelines!

dont have any advice other than to leave honest feedback..and pay attention unlike me. *LOL* oh and a HUG

People need to leave honest, descriptive feedback to warn others of the quality of books, etc.  It isn't being mean or petty, it is being honest and keeping others honest.  If someone waits until then get my BOB until they send it out, I do give them a positive, but I also note it on feedback.  If I don't ever get the BOB and can't resolve with the other person I would leave negative FB and note the situation.  If everything is great, the condition of the books meet PBS guidelines, etc I leave a positive FB and a positive comment.  If everyone who participated in BOB did something similar it would be easy to avoid those who don't quite follow the rules.
