I thoroughly enjoyed this book - very misleading cover and title makes one expect a light, fluffy story but it is well written and pretty scary in parts. Makes me want to check out some other books by this author.
This would appear to be juat another goofy, light paranormal romance from the cover. However, I found it to be spooky and intellegent if a little short on the actual romance part.
The author does not do her books justice with the cutesy titles. One expects a MJ Davidson type book or I'm the Vampire, That's Why type book but it isn't. It is actually a pretty good paranormal suspense book. I think the publishers took the easy road trying to market it the wrong way.
Megan Barrows runs an antique shop she inherited from her mother. She has had ghost/psychic experiences since childhood. She worked for a brief time with a ghost hunting crew which led to a scary situation that caused her to leave the business.
Case Lambert, house flipper, buys an old historic mansion and finds it has other "occupants" and comes to Megan for help even though he is a sceptic.
There is attraction between them, a third party man from her past in the form of Eric (head of the paranormal investation crew) and a murder mystery from 100 years ago....and ghosts=)
No deep, dark paranormal stuff here. Fairly light reading but enjoyable. I did like this story.
Erf... I had to force myself to finish this one... it was way too heavy on the soppy instant romance. I gave it a try based on other reviews saying it was more paranormal than romance but ick... far too much cloying nothingness for my tastes... if you're looking for something different give the Greywalker series by Kat Richardson a try.
Megan uses her psychic powers to fill her antiques shop, but gets caught up in an investigation of a haunted house. A good read.
Megan Barrows is a medium of sorts. She can handle objects and know what their history is as well as the feelings that come along with them. She had once been with a ghost hunting group, till things went horrible wrong, so she has given up the ghost hunting and sticks to running her antique shop.
Case Lambert, a handsome man who is into buying real estate and flipping it for a profit has just purchased a huge mansion that he wants to fix up and keep for himself and one day a wife.
Case has come into Megan's store to see if she would help him and her past colleague Eric Ramsey (whom Megan is not too happy with at the moment.) rid the mansion of some ghosts (that Case doesn't even believe in).
Megan finally agree's after some persuasion, and eventually moves into the house. She will have her hands full with not only helping some scary ghosts get out of this mansion, but with Case himself.
*This book was an intense read for me. The beginning is kinda slow, but once I got about halfway through the book, I couldn't stop reading until I was completely finished. The ghosts make is spooky and at times sent chills down my spine, and yet Case makes me all warm and fuzzy. This is a GREAT read. I would suggest it to anyone who has an interest in ghosts, or even someone who just wants a good thrilling read.*
"Single male seeks female for Ghostbusting..." No One, dead or alive will keep Megan and Case from getting together. A fun read!
Yes, another ghost story. The twist is what you look for.
This has that twist. A romance you think? Well maybe.
Ghostbusting is not as easy as it seems.
Take a read. You'll like it.
Good book. I didn't find this book scary, I thought it was a good, quick read with good paranormal happenings.
cute interesting storyline that will keep you laughing. Worth the read.
This was a great book. It was a little slow to start but turned out very good! If you like paranormal books this is a good one to read.
I really liked this book..I enjoy a book that has romance without it being a total sex fest and this book has a quite well developed story and I found the characters to be very real and likeable.
I have to agree with the other reviews, it is not a cutesy MaryJanice Davidson or Sookie Stackhouse kind of read. Its more paranormal than romance and its a pretty decent read. I would have like another chapter, alittle more detail on the ghostly aspects just because I am a detail kind of girl, but overall I was happy with it. I think Cach was shortchanged with the cover and description, even the title. Its alittle misleading.
This was a fun read. Really enjoyable!
I loved this book. Thought it was going to be another cheesy paranormal book, but it turned out to have a good mystery to it.
Excellent paranormal romance, a quick and fun read.
Really like this book. The story line and characters were fun and interesting.
This was a quick read. I'm not quite sure how to categorize it, because it felt kind of like a cross between a ghost- hunters show and a soap opera. At times it was funny, at times it was a bit over the top ghost-hunting paranormal, and then at times it got quite steamy. I think the ending felt a bit too much "Ghostbusters" movie for me, but overall, it was a fun read.
