This is an amazing children's book. The story is well written, simple enough for children yet interesting to youthful adults. The final message is a solid message of tolerance, but is written in such a way that you don't feel preached to.

Also, the illustrations are beautifully done in the same style as the rest of Patricia Polacco's books, making this book one to treasure.

I loved this book as a child, and to this day I still pull it down to read.
