One of my two very favorite child care/medical advice books. Very helpful with a good index. The subtitle is "From Birth to Age Five." The medical information is very useful for older children, too.

This book is a must for every mom but specially for moms whose mom is not physicaly close to help when the new baby comes. I was fortunate to have my mom for 3 weeks before and after the baby came, however, the emotions are at its highest and that book helps you a lot during those times and many months after that.
More practical advice. Lots of pictures and more of a developmental slant than other baby books.
This book provides a wealth of information on the development and growth of your child from birth to age five. Each of the five sections of the book explores the developmental stages associated with each age group. An A-Z reference sections includes advice on first aid, accidents, safety, infectious diseases, nursing and growth.
