This was a sweet book and a really quick read.
The sparse use of words, the feeling and truth, and the growth of a lonely man, are equally compelling in this scrap of a book. The kitten (as small as my hand) is a sweet component of this love story. I highly recommend it.
This is a sweet little story - a little sparse on character development, and no one except the cat even has a name. It follows the growth of a lonely man who acquires a kitten and learns to love. It is a quick read and leaves you feeling content and happy.
I really liked this book!!! I thought the story was good, even tho the characters were not named!!!! A must for cat lovers!!!!
The Bachelor's Cat has all the earmarks of a classic love story a holiday gift that will rival The Christmas Box and The Notebook. When a somewhat introverted and self-serving bachelor artist finds a stray kitten at his doorstep, he decides to take her in to see if he can, indeed, sustain a lasting and loving relationship with another living creature. His on-again, off-again romance with a sexy but shallow girlfriend has left him emotionally cynical, and in no time the cat becomes the central focus of his life. Through her, the man rediscovers the meaning of loyalty and affection.
Out one evening at his neighborhood bar, the man strikes up conversation with a woman. She's not his usual type a little older (closer to his age, in fact) and on the heavy side but after several minutes they are caught up in a kind of exciting conversation he never experienced with his old girlfriend. As their relationship unfolds and blossoms in new and rewardi! ng ways, the man wavers between the sincerity and depth of the woman versus the frivolous and surface sexuality of his girlfriend, and it is his trusty cat who illuminates the right path. The Bachelor's Cat is charming, emotional and rife with life's important lessons
