I have 2 books that I printed the wrappers to and handed to DH to take to the PO.  He came back and said the printing was too light on the addresses (our printer was low on ink).  Took 2 days to get ink.  I tried to re-print the wrappers - although all I need is the addresses.  It has a message come up when I click on print that says the requestor was adding another book and that I should wait then disabled the printing.  These people aren't adding a new book.  I did make the mistake of clicking the "mailed" button after giving it to DH.  I always set the Mail "postmark" as far off as possible so that if he or my son should not be able to mail it right then the postage will still be good to use.  I rarely am able to get out.  So that is why I have to rely on other family members to mail for me...it isn't always as good as if I did it myself.  How do I get the addresses (my eyes are bad with the little print ) to make sure that I get it right?  One of the numbers could be a 1 or a 7.  Thanks to anyone who can help!

Is it just that the system won't let you reprint the label?  Do you still need to add postage or did you pay and print out the postage?

Either way, you should be able to just reprint the label, but if the system says the requestor added a book, maybe check your other requests and see if one of them is going to the same person - that's what it sounds like is happening.

Hi Ruth,

I just tried to reprint a wrapper to see and I am having the same issue. Seems to be glitch since the book wrapper I am trying to reprint, was for a book I mailed 9 days ago. I am sure they are not adding a new book to this order at this late date.

I will send in feedback, you may want to do the same.

Thank you, Cheryl! I'm glad I wasn't going crazy!

Rhonda - I just needed to get the address so I could clearly write it for the mail carriers.  It won't let me see that. It disables the printing buttons.

I guess I will have to write in to TPTB!

Ruth, I have asked the other Tour Guides if anyone is experiencing the same thing. I will let you know if I learn anything by posting here. If you find a way around it, could you post here too? Thanks, Cheryl

I am experiencing something similar.  I have two separate orders from the same requestor and I can't print either label because the system says the requestor has another order pending.  I have gotten that message since yesterday at 2:00 pm and I still can't print anything.  I have PM'd a Tour Guide but still haven't got an answer to my problem.  I have verified with the Tour guide that the requestor doesn't have another order so now I am waiting for another answer.

You can just hand address them since you have the faint label you printed out already.

Can you PM the requestors, explain the situation and have them confirm their address?

The problem is that the printing disabler won't show any of the wrapper at all.  I just did a search on AnyWhoo and hope that the address I found is the right one.

As i posted in another thread...I'm having problems printing the initial label...it won't let me print a label at all and I haven't printed one for this order previously.  The alternate version will not print and it will not open up to let me see the person's address so I can hand address it.  I've PM'd the requestor just in case the glitch doesn't get fixed in a timely manner...and I've sent in feedback.

It seems to be working now. I think they were tweeking some of the details on the Bulk Wrapper, and we just got caught in the up-grade. See if it doesnt work for you. I just reprinted a wrapper and used the "Need to hand write address?" link and both worked fine for me.

I tried going in to look at the address - and I guessed right about the number!!  But I had to get the book out of here for 3 reasons - family member availability,  tropical storm warning, last mail truck out of the area to elsewhere!  I can't get a new printer cartridge until next week when the USPS delivers it!  I did go in and check on the "handwritten" option and it worked!  Thank you to all PBS people who helped and especially to Cheryl G.  I could give myself an ulcer sometimes!  I have one huge order to go out (ordered last night) but the other member has been informed that I won't be mailing it out until next week because of the printing problem and the tropical storm (we're out in the rural area - Potomac River is within our county so TS Hanna will get to us it looks like!).  Next time I have a printer problem I'm going to go on vacation hold!  ;D

Sorry, Christy!  I hope you can at least get in to see the handwritten address soon.  I didn't try to print since I don't yet have a new ink cartridge!

Christy,

You may want to try to log off and log back in and see if that wont "unstick" it. If it still wont work, you may want to send in Feedback to see if they cant get it "unstuck" for you.

Well, I sent in Feedback and it was no help AT  ALL!!!  they said it works on their end and to just let them know if I get an error message...well, hello it doesn't work and no error message.

I get the page that you can choose the label layout and pick options...I don't use online postage or DC...when I go to click to "print wrapper" nothing happens...same with alternate wrapper and handwritten wrapper.

so far I've:

rebooted; logged out & logged in; reset internet connection; cleared history; cleared recycle bin; cleared cookies; cleared cache; sent in feedback and still NOTHING...

yes, I have Adobe Reader...but, somewho doesn't seem that PBS is communicating with it...

and no No Error Message...

Wow, Christy!  Sorry that this is happening to you.

I've got another problem now.  I need to get in touch with someone who can tell me why every time I try to get out of my "notebook" it goes to someone else's wish list.  It's someone on the forums, so I'm thinking that an error is because of my posting here and her posting here and then once I went tosee her wishlist.  Weird!

Ditto here ... I got the same message late last night but I thought it was because of an error I'd made.

I printed the label earlier in the week but forgot to do it with postage. I went back to reprint out the label with postage last night and accidentally hit the "mailed book" button. I tried a dozen times to print out the label after that but kept getting the message about how this person had ordered another book and it was pending, blah, blah, blah.

After working on it for about 30 minutes I finally got it to where I could print the new label with the postage. I'm not sure what I did - just repeat and repeat the process and it finally got rid of that message. I mailed the book today and had to ask PBS for my instant credit, which they gave me promptly. I never thought to really delve into the message because I thought it had to do with my error on clicking mailed accidentally and then trying to print out the label with postage.

Obviously it was a glitch unless we all made the same error.

Christy,

It does sound like you have a different problem than the other people on this thread.

I wonder if you maybe have a javascript error. Do you see a yellow exclamation mark in the lower left of your browser window when the wrapper settings page is loaded or when you click the Print Wrapper button? If you do, you can double click on that, then click on details to get a full error message.

Do you use IE or Firefox? Can you switch to the other one temporarily? Do you have access to a different computer that you could try?

I know all this is a pain, but if the PBS Team was able to login to your account and print this wrapper, then they must think the problem is on your computer. As someone who writes web apps, I can tell you these issues are practically impossible to resolve from the server side. The worst possible thing is when the user says "nothing happens" when they click something because that means nothing is getting sent to the server, so you have no logs or messages to look at to figure out what's going wrong. You just have to make a series of guesses and hope you hit on the right one eventually.

I can tell you that your computer is not even getting to the point of launching Adobe Reader. First it has to tell the server to create the wrapper file, then it has to download that file, then it can launch the reader to open it. It really sounds like your browser is not telling the server to create the file. Especially since none of the buttons work on the print wrapper page.

I am having a similar problem.....I think.

I've never had this happen before....when I go to print the label I get this message:

We are sorry but electronic postage is currently not available for this address.

Does anyone know how to correct this problem.  I have replied that I can mail the book within 2 days (which means it must mail today) but I can't get an address on the requester at all.

"We are sorry but electronic postage is currently not available for this address."

This message means that Endicia (the 3rd party that provides the postage) is down or that the USPS can't validate the address. Endicia is the most likely cause of the problem, so try again in a little while. Also, check the exact deadline shown on your screen. You do have until 2 days past the day you said you could mail to click that button. If you said "within 2 days" on Thursday, you should have until Monday to mark the book mailed.

I'm having the same problem.... "postage not available for this address".  Hope it gets fixed soon.  I need to mail some books so I can accept some WL offers!

Cathy...mine finally resolved itself...I left the layout options page open and about every five minutes or so I'd click on the "Print Wrapper" button and finally after 14 hours of working to resolve the issue it decided to work.

"I wonder if you maybe have a javascript error. Do you see a yellow exclamation mark in the lower left of your browser window when the wrapper settings page is loaded or when you click the Print Wrapper button?"

Nope I didn't have a javascript error and no other error message or exclamation mark.

I use Firefox but, I tried IE and it wouldn't even open PBS.

I contacted a Tourguide and I had them totally stumped because I had tried everything they could think of, everything suggested in the Help Center.
