Patrick Paige is a hard-nosed Philadephia police detective willing to go to great lengths to find out who killed a young boy and kidnapped a teenaged girl. susan Morbach, the girl's mother and sweet, sheltered wife of an ambitious senator is willing to do anything to get back her pretty daughter from whover is holding her hostage.
Bobby Radcliff, a brilliant, charming, boyishly handsome, and hideously twisted psychopath, is willing to star the girl in a shooting script that fulfills his taste for torture and talent for porn movies. Patrick Paige, who has already followed the trail of corpses left by Bobby, knows only too well that the girls life hangs on the flimsiest of threads.
