ROFL  it would never occur me to look to see if the book was from a male or female.

All the bad books I've gotten have been from women.

I would guess that simply because there are more female members, odds are it's  females.

I've never actually looked. I don't look at the name. I look for a post mark then rip the wrapping off.

Some of my problem books have come from college students though.

Most of the books that I get are from females, and all of my 'problem' books have been from females in the 18-22 range.

Knock on wood, I've not received any true "problem" books. I've received from women and from men.

I've had a couple that were close, and they were from women.

Any complaints (whether I thought justified or not) have been from women.

The best "deal" I've gotten on PBS was from a guy, although I gotta say, I've gotten some good ones from women!

I never really thought about it except that the PMs I get in response to RWP books seem to be all ladies, except for the one guy who proceeded to tell me How Things Are Here and had it totally wrong.  Then I had the transaction that I thought I was talking to a guy (the name on the account was a man's name) but a lady was signing her names to the PMs.  *That* was confusing -- I didn't know who I was talking to!  LOL!

The only thing I noticed is, that the best looking, almost new books came from male members.

The worst book I have received (burned on one edge) was from a guy.

All 3 RWP transactions I've had have been from women.  That being said, I think the majority of traders here are women, so it's not a "fair" question (fair in the sense of odds)

UM, I guess I am too excited sending and recieving to bother looking who is wanting/sending the books.  I have had no issues, all my books have come in great condition, only had to give a suggestion about extra tape on the packaging once (and it was the USPS fault more then the senders).

Plus I notice their are alot more females on this site then males BUT if it is anything like my situation, I get books for my hubby and he has to check the book when it comes and he is more picky about smells then me.

SO maybe we need to ask how many females get stuck ordering for their other halves?  And how many men have the same issue with their wives?:)

More problems from females, but most of my books come from females, so it's not a fair or accurate assessment.

I wouldn't know.

Seriously, half the time I don't even glance at the name of the person sending my book. I just open the book and check it's condition, toss the wrapper, mark it received, and never give it another thought.

I'm fairly new here but I haven't had a single problem yet. Some of the books that I've received have looked brand new while others were definitely worn but still in really good condition. Having said that, the last two books I sent out have been to men. I hope they are judging my books worthy! :)

LeeAnne, your books are most worthy. :-)

ETA: Oops, forgot to answer the OP's question. My wife and I have separate accounts and have received about 400 books. Of those, only 1 was a book that should never have been posted, and it was from a member with a woman's name. We have both received books that were on or near their last reading, but I don't consider that a bad book - somebody has to be the last person who reads a paperback, they don't last forever.
