A very good western. A very quick read.

From the back of the book:

Lethal Landscape

The Badlands is a stretch of desolate frontier that has earned its name in spades. Once inside its borders, there is only one law to live by--"only the strong survive." Here, a simple act of kindness toward a family of greenhorn pioneers leads Skye Fargo into a desparate fight for survival...

A vile gang of cutthroats has been preying upon the native settlers heading out West. First, the pilgrims are lured out into the Badlands with promises of a booming frontier town called Paradise. Then the men are killed, their goods stolen, and the women taken to be sold at a barbaric auction to the worst element of mankind. With the lives of innocent women and children at stake, and a remorseless gang of butchers on the loose, the one law in the Badlands will soon become: "Never, ever, cross the Trailsman!"
