A new voice in Christian mom-lit, Stuart gives an enjoyable read about a first time mom coming to grips with the fact that motherhood has changed her life in some ways she never expected (and isn't exactly sure she likes). She and her husband have a few fairly major misunderstandings (both are almost convinced the other is having an affair) but after a lot of tears (and laughter) the book comes to a happy conclusion.
Balancing Act wasn't boring, but the main character annoyed me. I'm in my 40's and she is in the early stage of marriage and parenting, so maybe I just don't get her. The writing style is good...just didn't like the message
