In the Swiss Alps, Rudi's father died trying to climb the Citadel. Now, at 16, Rudi has a chance to climb it with Capt. John Winters on his quest to conquer the impossible peak. Should Rudi go against his mother's wishes to prove his courage and make his dream come true?

Read this with the family as a read-aloud. Very good book! Descriptive, full characterization. In several places, was emotionally connected with the characters. Intense near the end, we couldn't put it down even though it was past the kids bed-time. (Tried not to say very descriptive, very emotional and very intense, but so wanted to!) Enjoy!
