crying  I've read the entire Ameila Peabody series except for the most recent one published, because I had a feeling that River in the Sky was going to be the last Amelia Peabody and I just couldn't bear to see the series end.    RIP Barbara.   You entertained - and educated - a LOT of readers.

Oh, no!!!  I just finished the last Amelia Peabody book, "A River in the Sky."  Thought it would be the last one.  May Emerson & Peabody continue in our hearts.

Thank you, Cathy, for posting this sad news.

Under both her pen names, she gave me over 35 years of reading pleasure. I read and reread many of her books because they were just so much fun, and they will remain in my permanent collection. Her mysteries with MC's like Vicky Bliss were a breath of fresh air in a market filled with barely pubescent, petite ingenues who were routinely rescued by men who all could have been stand-ins for Fabio.
