I know. Hasn't it been about a year?

I read that they are making a miniseries that will be a prequel. I think it is going to take place a few hundred years before the Cylon invasion.

Yes, called Caprica. They were talking about it briefly at a recent press conference. Yep. Read about the press conference. That's how desperate I've been! Here's a link to an essay about it (not by me). Caprica is supposed to be set before the first Cylon war, showing the creation of the Cylons and how it happened. Apparently they're also pondering a movie, but aren't hopeful on it actually happening. Who knows, though. They said the same thing about Firefly, and we got a movie out of that in the end!

Very true! Did you hear about Whedon's new project, Dollhouse? Tahmoh Penikett (Helo) is going to be on it.

I'll have to dvr it tonight but the whole family is looking forward to its return.  Didn't know about the new miniseries, thanks for the heads up.  I'll have to mention it to my wife.

p.s.  Anyone see the 7 or 8 min synopsis of the series on the scifi site?  Very funny.  Check it out if you haven't seen it yet.

Ooo, thanks for reminding me about that! I remember seeing an ad for it, but not wanting to suffer through whatever movie was playing at the time. I'm glad they put it on the website. My favorite? "Roslin calls Baltar a traitor, and wants to use the airlock again." or maybe "Bad Boomer."

Leah, I'm looking forward to Dollhouse, too. It'll be like Buffy and BSG reunion week! I imagine FOX will cancel it quickly, but maybe it'll be a five-episode DVD preview.  :)

Yeah, people are already talking about how Dollhouse may be too "out there" for the average viewer. Plus Fox and Whedon don't have the greatest history together, but I'm staying positive.

BSG was great last night! Wowee. I was not disappointed. :)

Getting late into this discussion, but hey, I'm frackin' happy it's back on, and frackin' sad it's the last season. :)

I haven't watch either episolde yet; I dvr'd them so I can ff thru commericals and not lose that dramatic edge that I feel is so important to the show.

re Dollhouse; is it going to be on SciFi channel or Fox Channel?  If it's the Fox Channel than I will have to agree with Bobbie H.; it will probably only last a few weeks ala Firefly, Wonderfalls, etc.   It's not a reality show after all.....

You haven't watched either yet? Wow, such restraint! All I can say is, make sure the phone ringer is off--you won't want to be disturbed. :D I'm so intrigued as to what's going on in the Cylon's storyline. When we first started hanging out at the basestar so much, I was miffed that we were going away from Galactica, but now I can't wait to see what's going to happen next. This latest plotline twist was very surprising, and a little disturbing.

I believe Dollhouse is going to be on Fox. I can only hope we get a full season on DVD (like what happened with Wonderfalls) because I doubt that it's going to last long on Fox. Funny how that channel used to be known for new, edgy shows and now it's mostly known for .... uh, what's it known for now??

For canceling edgy shows. :)

And yes, Dollhouse is going to be on Fox. It's my understanding that Fox went to Eliza Dushku about creating a new show, and she brought Whedon in on it. It's already been picked up for seven episodes, instead of just a pilot, which is a good sign. Now we just need it to get ratings, so they buy more.

Regarding Battlestar Galactica:  I read last week that the SciFi channel has only ordered 10 episodes of the last season so far so there is going to be another hiatus in June.  Not good news.

Where did you read that? I read that they were spliiting the season in two, because of the writer's strike. I thought that Sci-fi bought 22 episode's. Razor counted as two, and there would be 10 now, and 10 in the Fall.

Thanks for the link, Phil.

That sure sounds like only ten, but I think that may be old news. I frequent a BSG message board and I'm sure that if that were true, those people would have said something. They are hard-core, BSG geeks. :)

If I hear anything new, I'll post it here.

I'm hoping that is the case.  I tried to find a date on that site as to when that column was posted but I can't seem to find one there.  It does seem unlikely that SciFi network would only order 10.  Maybe it was a misinterpretation of the information.

Yes please post any new info if you would.

Thanks

Phil

P.S.  WE"RE GOING THE WRONG WAY!!!(current favorite phrase, can be applied to many situations) : )

What? I hadn't read *either* of those things. I thought we were going right through till the end! Another hiatus is going to feel brutal, especially with how this season's going.

I'm going to have to try to stop watching the promos from now on. They totally gave away what happened with Cally. Didn't ruin the shock or awe of the whole thing, but still. I think I'm going to go spoiler-free for the rest of the series!

I thought friday night's episode was kinda of slow.  Except Cally going out the airlock.  I have to agree with BobbieH about the promos totally giving away the ending of that episode.    That is annoying.  They do that with movie previews all the time now.  Not necessarily giving away the ending but showing too much of the movie.

I never watch the promos for any show. They always ruin surprises.

I often want to scream, "We're going the wrong way!". It is appropriate for so many situations. In fact, I think I'll make that my new signature. :)

Anyone bored with the story line?  I'm really getting tired of the whole Gaius(annoyus) Baltar storyline.  That is becoming sooo boring to me.  It's probably just me but lets hear some feedback.

I'm actually a newbie...I just finished watching season one on DVD and will be starting season 2. I really am enjoing it so far. especially no commercials. I wil probablly be ready to watch season 4 when it takes a break for the summer so I'll be up to date by the fall start. (if there is a fall start)

Yeah, Phillip, the Gaius-as-Jesus-with-Groupies storyline is getting tiresome for me, too. I want to get back to the Basestar and see what the heck happened over there! And who's the last Cylon? Apparently they're putting clues into the episodes, but I'm certainly not picking any out. I'm leaning toward Gaius, but that's just because of Six's D'Anna's reaction at that temple thing. Gaius would be too easy, and this show doesn't do easy.  :)

edited to put the right name in, sheesh! Didn't even catch that until tonight's episode.

I recently starting watching this series on DVD.  I'b been holding off because I thought it was like the old series with Lorne Green and I just didn't want to go there.  But a friend loaned me the first 2 hour miniseries and my husband and I really liked it.  I have just finished season 2.5 on Dvd and will soon go on to season 3.  I admit I find Baltar annoying, and also the 6 in his head (Don't know if she stays there throughout but she's still there now).  But I had to laugh when Six got resurrected and there was a Baltar in her head.  Enjoying it.

I am jealous of everyone who watched it on DVD. I had a hard time waiting a whole week to find out what happened next.
