This is total erotica, but well-written erotica. ;) I really didn't like the first of this series much (Claiming of Sleeping Beauty). I read it only because of the hype and wasn't that impressed. If not for PBS, I probably wouldn't have tried the second book. But I liked this one so much more, the characters are more realized. There is a better insight to their feelings and reasonings. Not just a description of strange actions, which is how I remember the first book. I prefer Tristan to Beauty's character for some reason, but she has become a lot more interesting. This is a strange fictional world they are living in, and it's full of surprises. It's a good, quick read. Be warned: No one is kidding. There really is lots of sex and kink in this book, so if that's going to be an issue, this isn't the series for you.
Explicit bdsm erotica... the dialoge was very weak for ann rice-- too simple.
Extremely explicit, NOT for the faint of heart
Interesting read. It was not the book I thought it was. Wow! Very graphic!
BDSM without much heart. Beauty suffers indignities without much personal insight. Tristan lends some relief in that he is at least self-aware. Leaves them both as captured slaves of the Sultan - seems a better place than the Village. Male and female readers improve the presentation.
