Thinking of trying wood carving. This is a great book on how to get started. Written for the novice this book shows how to reproduce realistic animals, flowers and humorous figures in a variety of forms; in the round, in relief and as line carvings. A wide spectrum of more than 60 project patterns offers practical plans and ideas for carvers at all levels of expertise. Intro to carving tools Very good book on this subject.

I requested this book for my husband, but enjoy woodcarving myself and found this book to be completely enjoyable. The instructions are easy to understand and the projects are beautiful for the most part depends on your taste. There is a project for everyone who enjoys woodcarving in this book is what I'm trying to say. I personally found most of them to be quite beautiful. I would recommend this book to beginning and experienced woodcarver's alike. There are few books out there with the detailed instruction and photos such as this one. Happy woodcarving!
