As I wake up one morning,
a Monday, no less,
I feel awfully crummy
My throat is sore
I can barely speak
My eyes are watering
I can't even see
My nose is running
I have no tissues
My head itches
I need some cream!
Yet, I get ready
"It'll pass," I think
I don't take any Motrin,
Grab a bite to eat
Off to school
On my way
Boy, is it a rainy day!
I make it through first,
Even with that annoying kid
And my teacher singing opera
I sniffle
and sniffle
and sniffle some more
Aaaaaaachooo!
My voice sounds scratchy,
As I ask for a pencil
"Thanks," I say
Everyone answers, "Are you okay?"
Ouuuuuuuuch!
Day-gummit,
I cut myself
Off to the nurse
Back to class
I'm feelin no better
My teacher looks concerned
Back to the nurse
I sign in,
And tell her what's wrong
"Go gargle salt water," she barks.
"And dont cut class!"
I do what I'm told
'Cuz I'm too tired to fight
My teacher asks what happened
And I tell my tale
She gets mad
"That dumb old nurse. Call your dad."
I dial the number
Ring ring ring!
"Please pick up," I beg
Thank goodness he does!
He'll come pick me up
My peers say bye
I walk to the office
More sick than not
That five minutes
Feels like forever
But finally I see him
Walk through the door
We drive to CVS
And pick up some Meds.
Poppin one in,
I'm still not myself
I get home,
Lay on the couch
Watch a movie,
Then get on here
And that my friends is being sick!
P.S. Cough! Cough!
