I waited, gathering my Will. Then somebody in the mob below blew a horn. All the Morindim magicians barked commands, and the howling demons started up the hill, the imps skittering across the snow and the big ones lumbering forward.
"Behold!" I thundered; then, posing like a charlatin at a country fair, I spoke the words that released my Will.

If you have read Eddings' Belgariad or Malorian, this is a must read. It chronicles the life of Belgarath the Sorcerer, and answers questions about his past, his relationship with Polgara, and with Garian. Beautifully written, it, with Polgara the Sorceress, neatly tie up the ends of this epic adventure.
