This book didn't live up to my expectations. I heard tons of women rave about it and while it was humorous enough, I didn't like McCarthy's close minded views of breastfeeding or birthing naturally sans drugs. I didn't want to expect to read any judgments in this book, and being an emotional pregnant woman already sensitive to my choices for feeding and birthing, I probably would've passed had I known about them.
That said, she's quite honest about many of the dirtier details of pregnancy, so it's nice knowing that even Playmates deal with the same symptoms.

Belly Laughs is hilarious! Jenny is totally honest about even the most embarassing aspects of childbirth. The only bad thing about this book is it is too short! I read it in just over an hour! I highly recomend Belly Laughs!
LOVE this book. When I was pregnant her books were the ONLY ones that I read. Belly Laughs and Baby Laughs were soo soo funny and I couldn't put them down. I think I finished both in a day. I love Jenny McCarthy and she is HILARIOUS! If you are pregnant or have a friend expecting buy her these 2 books. She will love them.
In my opinion, this book is a must read if you are pregnant! At times, I found myself laughing out loud with the book. She was very candid and I could relate to many things that she said in the book. I read this book in one sitting when I was pregnant with my son. I would highly recommend this book!
This was a fun read. It really gets you laughing at everything your body goes through or does when your prego. It also opens your eyes to things nobody tells you at your ob/gyn or in other pregnancy books.

A great book if you want a laugh during your pregnancy. Jenny really does go over all the details of what you think, only you are experiencing!! I found myself laughing out loud at many points in this book. A must for any expecting Mother!

So I found out I was pregnant and bought this book. I actually did laugh out loud more than once. I felt a kinship with Ms. McCarthy because I am feeling some of the things she felt and I also hope to never get some of the things she did.
I love how truthful and just open she is about everything, I like the truth flat out instead of sugarcoated and Ms. McCarthy does that for you.
Its a light, cute, read and I was very happy I bought this one because it made me feel a bit less alone than I've been feeling as of late. I will definitely pick up more books by her if she writes them.
I give this one five stars because had I been pregnant and read this I would have loved it.
My neighbor kept telling me that this is the funniest book in the world and that I really need to read it and so I did...I did find myself laughing a few times but I do beleive my neighbor must have been preggers when she read this because it just did not have the same effect on me as it did her.
I guess I had really high expectations of this book because of the things I had heard. Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed it, but it just didn't live up to what people said. I never laughed out loud or anything like that...but I really did find myself nodding my head at times because I had gone through the same thing. A great read if you are looking for a more honest and non-medical look at your pregnancy. After all...you can only read so many medical books before your head starts to spin, right?

This book is fantastic - I laughed until I cried (although that could have been the pregnancy hormones). Jenny McCarthy spares no details sharing the difficulties of pregnancy, but does it with a liberal dose of laughter.

In my opinion this book is a must have for any pregnant woman! Its not the extra informative style reading you may be used to in typical books, but thats what makes this book a great read. I found myself laughing aloud every single chapter! Pregnancy is hard, so why not read something light hearted about it to lift your spirits, it worked for me!
Another fun read by Jenny McCarthy. I found myself laughing out loud at the "joys" of pregnancy symptoms. This is a great read to recommend to first time moms. She definitely shares all those not so fun moments of pregnancy!
A lighthearted look at the horrors of pregnancy from former Playmate McCarthy. A quick read, but not terribly deep or informative if you've read any of the excellent prepping for childbirth books out there, such as "What to Expect When You're Expecting." Sometimes the narrative left me wondering, "God, she's not really THAT dumb, is she?"
5th time grandma, I was posting this for my daughter along with all her other pregnancy books (she says this is an only child). Belly Laughs is fun, common sense and really does tell you how it is. It's quick to read and pulls no punches. She talks with
humor about all the things you really don't think will happen, but most likely will. The list for husbands at the back belongs on his must read list!
I do recommend this for first time pregnant moms or anyone with a close family member expecting a baby. Dads would benefit a lot from reading this, and since the author is
such a hottie and the book is short, maybe dad's can tear themselves away from the TV remote to learn a thing or two about what to expect!
