I chose this book because I had read so many good reviews of it.  I was dispappointed and bored beyond belief.  First, for the first 300 pages, the Hero & Heroine, although married, have very very little contact.  They hardly even speak to one another.  There is a mystery and very little progress is made on it for about 300 pages.  The book does not become interesting or engaging until about the last 100 pages.  I'm almost sorry I stayed with it so long.  Also, they don't have sex until the very end.

There's a very tortured hero, which I usually like, but he was so distant for most of the book that it really put me off.  I had a hard time believing that these two could have fallen in love with so little contact.

While it wasn't a complete waste of time, I think its highly overrated and would only give it a C rating overall an a sensuality rarting of "warm."

I think  Karen Ranney's Tapestry, a book with a similar theme, is MUCH MUCH  better.  Tapestry engaged me immediately and I needed a box of kleenex to finish it.

I really loved this book.  I really loved his struggle with the "disease" because it was very misunderstood during this time.  I don't think they really could've gotten together any sooner considering his situation.

I loved that this book was a little different than the usual fare.

Thank God I was not the only one that was bored to frakking tears with this book.

Edited to say : I rarely like what everyone else likes :)  and I am sure books I thought were good( ex Julie Garwood books) people hate :)

I confess, it didn't do that much for me. I kept it though, thinking I should give it another try sometime.
