This was a good read, set on the border of England and Scotland. This is one of a trilogy on the Maclean brothers. I had not read the other books but it didn't matter.
English born Kimbra Charlton once rode side by side with her bandit husband. But after his untimely death, she has lived at the mercy of his clan. When she comes across a wounded Scottish warrior, she cannot leave him to die...
Scottish born Lachlan Maclean who is being nursed by Kimbra does not remember anything of his past. And the English King has declared that all Scots are to be killed after the battle of Flodden, but Kimbra secretly nurses him anyway... While his family is searching for him Lachlan must tread carefully when the Charlton clan leader discovers him and takes a liking to him...Will his memory ever return? He walks s dangerous line...
