This is a wonderful biography of the early life of Sonia Sotomayor. She writes an inspirational, candid account of her growing up years in New York City. She discusses being of Puerto Rican ancestry and how this affected her view of the world, and the implications culturally in America. Highly recommend this memoir.

This autobiographical account of Sonia Sotomayor's fascinating life includes her youth, family, high school, college and law school, activism and volunteering, marriage and divorce, court trials, intellectual property litigation and ends with her Supreme Court swearing-in. I loved the way that she wrote so honestly about her family and her own life, the good and the bad. It is deeply personal and inspiring. As she said, "I've spent my whole life learning how to do things that were hard for me." Sonia had a broad range of experiences in life and the law and this book provides entertaining and inspiring reading. I would highly recommend this for a young woman deciding on a career in law.
