Hey, Posted this to online help a while ago and never heard anything back. Maybe it's trafficky there. What does anyone out there think of a book with 5 fairly deep creases in the cover? Is that excessive wear? One faint coffee stain, which I'd be inclined to excuse if the book were in better condition. And a bookmark from a competing swap site, which I have heard has lower posting standards. I'll read the book, but am wondering if I'll get burned on the repost. Opinions?

The bent cover is okay - it's the coffee stain that makes it unpostable.  No stains of any kind are allowed.  You can find the complete posting guidelines here:  http://www.paperbackswap.com/help/help_item.php?id=205

Gross, no stains allowed.

RWAP it if it's not too late.

If it's too late, maybe you can post in the Book Bazaar.

There are good reasons stains of any kind are not allowed.  One is we never know just what that stain is. Another is if it is food related it can draw pests.  And the moisture required to make a stain can lead to mildew and mold which spreads easily to other books.  Most people have a thing about stains they don't know what they might be and it's a "yuck factor".  PBS really tries to keep a high standard of quality for used books and the only way that works is if everybody follows that standard and enforces it when faced with such a book sent to them.
