I just finished "Ravished" by Amanda Quick and I was looking for a good follow-up.  The problem is that there are so many Amanda Quick books that I am a little lost.  Can anyone recommend the best of the Amanda Quick books?

I love all of her historicals, but to me the early ones in the One Word for the Title series were some of her best. Affair, Dangerous, Desire and Deception are among some of my favs. Mischief is another good one.

I agree about her One Word titles . . . very enjoyable reads.

I liked the trilogy she did starting with Slightly Shady and I think the other titles were Don't Look Back and Late for the Wedding though I might be thinking of something else..the same couple are in all 3 and solve a mystery.

All the single word titles are good - my favorites though were Desire, Scandal, Rendevous, and Ravished (which you just read lol).

I'm not sure there is a "best of."  I really like everything she writes.

I think her Dreamlight Trilogy is going to be under all three pen names.  I just read "Fired Up," by Jayne Ann Krentz, and the sequel is set in the late 1800's, so that's probably an Amanda Quick novel.  I think the third book will be set on Harmony, so I'm assuming Jayne Castle will be writing that one.

I love all of Amanda Quick's books, but my absolute favorites are Scandal, Deception, & Mistress. I would say Ravished, too, but I saw that you just read that - good choice ;-)

You do know that "Amanda Quick" is a pen name for Jayne Anne Krentz, don't you?

Another pen name she uses is "Jayne Castle".  Most of the books she writes under that pen name are Fantasy/Romance books.  A lot of them are about a fictional world called "Harmony".  I have read several of those novels and liked them all.

She writes so many books under so many names, one has to wonder when she sleeps.  She's about as prolific as Nora Roberts, maybe even more so.  Here are all her pen names and the numer of books she has written under them:

Jayne Anne Krentz - 69 books (contemporary romance and romantic suspense)

Jayne Castle - 29 books (fantasy romance, she's still writing Harmony books, last one in Sept, 09)

Stephanie James - 29 books (she seems to have given this one up in the mid 80's)

Amanda Quick - 29 books (historical romance)

She has also written about 5 others under some other pen names that she seems to have given up in the 80's.

Now that's prolific!

If you got to Fantasticfiction.com it'll list all her series books in order.  Just put in one of her names and I believe it lists all of her names on the same page.

I'm a big AQ/JC/JAK fan so to me they're all good. I would read the Arcane and Harmony series in order.  YOu can alternate between the time periods but read the books within each time period in order.

'Dangerous' was the book that made me glom AQ and it is still one of my favorite, followed by Mistress and Wicked Widow.  I have a number of her books under her Stephanie James name that I just recently dug up to read again.  She's still one my comfort reads no matter which name she writes under.

I definitely prefer that middle period of single titles.   Deception, Affair, and Scandal were up there with Ravished.  Back then she was writing humor rather than mysteries.

I always head to those books when I'm sick with a cold.  The perfert light comfort read.

I really like her Arcane series.  I hope she continues to write them.  She alternates between Amanda Quick and Jayne Anne Krentz with the Arcane series, so I'm not sure reading them in order is necessary because Quick writes in the past and Krentz writes in the present.  I have her latest "All Fired Up" on hold at the library.  I can hardly wait.
