From book's introduction: ...recipes have been modified...so they can be made from ingredients available in most Western supermarkets...I have designed this book for those for whom time is short...recipes are mostly meatless and the ingredients used are relatively cheap...even those uninitiated in Indian cooking can prepare them...alternate combinations of ingredients are suggested.
I say: Interesting, useful, easy. Here's a sampling of recipes: Samosas (fried meat pies); Fresh Coconut Barfi (a cookie); Naan (bread); Phodnicha Bhat (Indian fried rice); Tomato Chutney; Peas with Coconut; Quick Chicken Curry; Eggs & Chili Pickle Dip.
