I was thinking it my be interesting to to read the Bible as literature.  Specifically to pick one "chapter" and summarize in forum what you think, strictly as literature.  No preaching or converting or damning to hell, please.  Evangelicals looking for heaven points, let the book speak for itself and have faith good things will result.

Do the ideas seem useful still or are they dated.  Structure.  Summary of action.  Main characters.  I'll start with Job or Deuteronomy in the Old Testament if others want to give it a whirl.  Perhaps pick a chapter and take a view:  (feminist, on poverty, humor, God as a loving or punishing.  Whatever.

I suppose I am a heathen.  I am non-denominational.  As a child went to Baptist Church, then later Lutheran, then later Unitarian, some Methodist, most recently both very liberal Catholic and very traditional Catholic, even managed Dutch Reformed a couple years ago.  Also tried a couple youth oriented places essentially called church.

yahoo groups has a post line on this subject.  I'm sorry I forgot the name of it but when you go to groups it describes what it's about pretty well.
