I just love Alice McDermott. Every one of her books is pure gold. This one is no exception.
A woman who is and editor at a vanity press becomes involved with a young man who brings in a manuscript that sets off many chords in her own past. Oddly unsatisfying. I kept waiting for a payoff that didn't come.
