and don't laugh cuz they really can be trained. Some birds are not the type that can usually be trained like budgies and tiels...they go potty every few minutes and poop all night while sleeping. But birds like my conure can be trained easily. But I have created a monster who now does not like to poop in his cage so he screams at me if he wants to go potty in the toilet instead of his cage and when i am sleeping as a day sleeper it is not funny (LOL even tho it really is...) We try to sleep days but if i get up to go HE wants to go too. Grumble grumble the little brat!To train these birds you just wake them up  in the morning...mine sleeps in his tissue box under his cage bottom papers and grumbles as he wakes up.  I give him a minute to open his eyes and then I hold him over a waste basket or the toilet and tell him to " go potty". They have a big poop after holding it all night and usually go within a minute of telling him. I jumped up and down and said good boy like a cheerleader and within a few days he was going on command. WARNING" you may create a potty monster and never sleep late again but you will have the cleanest bird cage on the planet, also please flush with the lid down so your bird does not fall in the potty.

He will hold it while sleeping all day. We sleep most days because hubby works 7 pm to 7 am. And if Saprrow takes a long nap he will hold it and scream to be let out to go potty. Other times when he is awake he will go in his cage cuz those are smaller poops. It is the BIG ones he will not  do in his cage. So a few times a day he yells to be let out to go...it can be annoying if the humans just fell asleep so now we potty him beofre bed and if I nap LOL!! His breeder told me even though he is a very small parrot...he is smaller than a tiel...he can be trained and he sure was trained fast!! Budgies and tiels poop every ten minutes and while they can be trained to go in one spot when out of the cage it is harder to trrain birds that go so often.

my baby is potty trained too! He has a specific perch that he goes to outside his cage. We have newspaper under it at all times. I just put him there and say go poopy! If he has to go he will. He sometimes doesn't make it there but he tries usually. He does poop in his cage during the day, but he has a sleeping cage at night and NEVER poops in it. He waits until morning and when I take him to his big cage in the family room, he drops the bomb! They are the sweetest, funniest little guys!

from the pics it looks like maybe a pineapple greencheek? My Sparrow is in time out this afternoon for a screaming fit. But then I wonder if the bad weather coming this way set hom off cuz he hardly ever makes any sounds at all other than a cluck like a chicken when he goes to bed. he is really acting strange today!
