A third and equally important objective is to provide the interested Park visitor with a source of information concerning the birds which may be expected to be seen in the Park, together with information about when and where these might be seen.
As a final objective, it is hoped that this treatise may contribute to a better understanding of the distribution and habits of the birds of the High Cascades and that it may stimulate further study of the avifauna of the Park.
The manuscript was completed in its original draft during the winter of 1950-1951. Additions from field work during the summer of 1951 have been made in cases of particular importance.« less
