Is this a good read?  I was able to pick it up in HC (excellent condition)  for a dime today! :D

I read it for Book Club, I liked it, didn't love it.

I really enjoyed it.  Florence is my favorite place that I've ever visited, so I enjoyed the setting.  It is one of the top 3 or 4 books that I read last year.

I thought it was just okay too, actually I read it in skim mode because it was kind of boring me.  IMHO there's lots better historical fiction out there.

I thought it was okay.  I didn't fall in love with it though.  The main character got on my nerves.

I listened to it on CD while on a long car trip.  I was unimpressed.  I dind't hate it, but it's not something I would be in a hurry to tell all my friends about.

I loved it, myself and was totally sucked into the story from the first sentence onward. I much preferred Birth of Venus to her more recent  book, In the Company of the Courtesan. I've got the HC of Venus on my keeper shelf...but I paid a lot more than a dime for mine! LOL

It was a pretty quick read for me.  Good beach book I think.
