I have had this book to read for while and thought this would be the perfect book to read over the holiday season. This book contains two very cute holiday novellas. The Argeneau vampires novella was cute and sexy and hopeful; a perfect Christmas story. The Night Huntress novel was a bit more bloody and vicious but I enjoyed it as well.

The first novella is called The Gift and is a novel in the Argeanau vampire series. In this novella when Teddy, a small town cop, gets stranded in a cabin in the woods he encounters the young and beautiful Katricia Argeneau. As they work to survive in the woods without power the two develop a sweet and steamy relationship and discover that both their dreams may have been answered.

The second novella is called Home for the Holidays, this is a Night Huntress novella. Cat and Bones are looking forward to a quiet holiday at home with their friends. That is until Bones' long last brother shows up and puts Bones and many of his friends under a spell of sorts. Cat is unaffected and is left to figure out how to mitigate this disaster and break the spell. While not quite as sweet and funny as The Gift; this novella was action packed and entertaining.

This was a fun read for the Christmas season. I would recommend if you are fans of either of those paranormal series. I have never read an Argeneau novel before (although I have the first couple in the series sitting on my bookshelf) but this little novella really peaked my interest in that series again.

Even if you aren't a current reader of either of these series both of these novellas are good samples of the type of story and writing each series is comprised of. So in addition to be a cute and fun holiday read for series fans, this is also a nice sample of the kinds of stories these two authors write. I have already read all of the Night Huntress novels and this Argeneau novella has definitely peaked my interest in that series and made me eager to pick it up.

Home For the Holidays- Jeaniene Frost

To be honest, I bought this book just for the Night Huntress short story. I liked the short story, for sure, but at the same time, I have some minor critiques... mainly that there wasn't enough Cat/Bones time together in said story.

Cat and Bones have decided to have a good old fashioned Christmas at home, with their closest family and friends. But, when a long-lost member of Bones' blood family from when he was alive shows up, things start to get a little... strange.

Cat, Ian, and Denise are left to figure out what's going on, and how to fix the problems with the rest of the guests that had been invited to the party. But can they figure out what's going on before someone gets killed... permanently?

This was great for a novella/short story. It was actually a lot longer than I thought it would be, which was awesome, and it featured almost all of my favorite Night Huntress characters, with the exception of Don and Tate.

The only problem with this story is as always, at the end, I wanted more more more! If you're a Night Huntress fan, this is one you surely shouldn't miss!

This book contained stories by Lydnsay Sands and Jeaniene Frost.

The Gift belonged to Sands Immortal Series. Readers of the series might remember Teddy Brunswick as the police chief of Port Henry (the place where Immortals are mostly out of the closet). He was reluctantly on his way to retirement. In stepped Katricia Argeneau on the brink of retiring from rogue hunting and with a possibility of heading down the path of becoming a rogue herself. Given this premise, I thought the story was going to be a little darker but it was really light and fluffy. It was very sweet with a simple moral of the real meaning of Christmas (not the Jesus Christ one, but the one about the most important gift is love). If I rated this story on its own, I would most likely give it 3 ½ stars.

Home for the Holidays was part of Frosts Cat and Bones adventure. Frosts writing just gets better and better. I couldnt put it down. Cat wanted a real holiday celebration with all their friends (even pscho Ian since Bones loves him so much). Then Bones found out he had a long last brother and the holidays are ruined with lots of mind control and bloodshed. Typical day for Cat and Bones. Like her books, the story kept me on the edge of my seat. I kept wondering how Cat and her friends were going to get out of a situation that got progressively worse and worse. I loved it.

Fun short stories with a holiday theme. The Lynsay a Sands story has a hero in his 60's. Cat and Bones are pretty typical and have lots of sex and action scenes. A keeper holiday book.

I only read the Jeaniene Frost story, but it was worth the price of the whole book.

Cat throws a surprise birthday party for her husband, Bones, inviting their close friends to stay and celebrate the holidays. But an unexpected guest shows up and some of the members of the party start acting strange. Cat, Denise and Ian are unaffected and must uncover the reason for their loved ones odd behavior.

This is a novella in the Night Huntress series, but had enough story and surprises to fill a full-length novel. In this story we learn more about Bone's past and where he came from. There is major story progression in this novel, so don't skip it if you're reading the series. My rating: 5 Stars.
