Very cute, funny vampire story. This was a fun read with just the right amount of humor thrown in. I am looking forward to the next in the series to see how things go with the main characters.

Sarah Dearly was just turned into a vampire, and she isn't happy about it. The past week has been hell, she's just lost her job, and the one vampire she cares for wants to kill himself. Welcome to the life of Sarah Dearly, and her hilarious romp through new vampire territory.

This debut novel by Michelle Rowen was a terrific read, and I look forward to the sequel, Fanged & Fabulous, due around Spring 2007. She also wrote one of the chapters of Bewitched, Bothered & BeVampyred, which I have waiting on my TBR and am even more anxious to read now. The story reminded me somewhat of Betsy in MJD's Undead series; Sarah's just as quirky and funny, if not more so.

I thought this book was promising. I liked the idea of a blind date from hell turning out to be even worse then listening to the man's bowel problems and what him and his mom do for fun on Tuesdays nights. But somewhere along the way I found I just couldn't get into it. I didn't think the humor was that funny and the main vamps name bugged me crazy because I couldn't pronounce it. I did finish it and I thought some of the secondary characters had promise so I rated this right in the middle. I will read the next in the series because sometimes a book I think isn't that great is actually my issues and not the authors.
I would recommend this book to those who like paranormal on the lighter side like Kimberly Raye, MaryJanice Davidson and Lynsay Sands. Not that I think this offering is up to par with those seasoned ladies but the book does have a similar feel to it.

Kinda cute. Not an erotic type story--more clever and fun. I don't think there was even one "all the way" sex scene in the book. I'd read the next one if it becomes a series.

"Dear Mom, I might be a wee bit late for Cousin Missy's wedding. It's been a tough week. Turns out, my blind date from hell was literally FROM HELL! Guy bit me. Next thing I know I'm being chased all over the city by vampire hunters. Oh, and did I mention, I got fired, too?"

This hilariously funny romp through the underworld of Toronto is worth every penny I spent on it, and you will enjoy it immensely too.

Storyline interesting and funny. Rowen is similar to Macaclister's work in that she makes the main character have a sense of humor making the reader laugh a lot.

This was a cute book but definitely has been done before.

It reminded me a lot of Lynsay Sands's books, mainly because it is also set in Canada.

Vampire-lite.

Dating in the modern world isnt all its cracked up to be as our heroine, Sarah Dearly finds out when her blind date turns out not only to be a vampire, but bites her and turns her into one of the undead. Then to make matters worse, Sarahs sire is murdered by vampire hunters just mere minutes after shes turned and she has no idea what to do next. Luckily, self-preservation kicks in and Sarah does what any self-respecting woman, undead or alive, would do when faced with imminent violenceshe hauls ass out of there. When she comes across 600+ year old vampire Thierry de Bennicoeur preparing to commit suicide, Sarah takes a leap of faith (literally) in the hope that she can convince Thierry that life is worth living and herself that she can continue to live her own life before this minor derailment into the vampire community. Along the way, Sarah meets other vampires, some nice and some she would probably like to stake herself and a vampire hunter who is intent on killing her despite her numerous protests that she isnt evil.

I found this book to be a cute and entertaining story to a series that looks to be very entertaining. I liked Sarah quite a bit. She reminds me of Betsy Taylor from the Undead series by MaryJanice Davidson. If you like that series, you will enjoy this one. Sarah has a lot of attitude and isnt shy about expressing herself. I thought she had a lot of spunk. Even after being fired from her job and no financial windfalls looming on the horizon, Sarah manages to take charge of the situation and plows forward instead of wallowing in self-pity.

I didnt warm up to Thierry, unfortunately. He seemed too stuffy and stuck-up for me. Even though it was quite obvious to me that he was attracted to Sarah, I didnt like that he went out of his way to push her away and wasnt very nice about it. The fact that she stuck around and had his back says more about her and her integrity and compassion, however. I liked Michael Quinn, the vampire hunter who is after Sarah. I was glad to see he turned out to be one of the major characters. I found his personality very likeable. Sarah befriends one of the vampires at Thierrys nightclub named George who I found to be very likeable and funny.

Though the jury is still out on whether I want to see Sarah and Thierry end up together, I am looking forward to reading the second book to find out what happens next.

Cute, funny story. Reminded me of Mary Janice Davidson's writing. I'm looking forward to this author's next book.

Blind dates can be bad, but Sarah Dearly's date is a true contender for worst ever. His neck nibbling didn't just leave a bruise; it turns her into a vampire, and the newest target for a pack of zealot vampire hunters. With her date now their latest victim, Sarah runs for her immortal life--straight into Thierry de Bennicoeur, a master vampire who is just a wee bit suicidal. Thierry can't resist a damsel in distress and agrees to teach Sarah how to live the vampire life if she'll help him end his own. But as it turns out, Sarah may be his best reason for living. Bitten & Smitten is a study in contrasts: frothy chick-lit wrapped around a grittier reality and a flip side featuring a modern heroine paired with a Brontean hero. And Rowen makes it all work together beautifully. Let us welcome this fresh voice to the genre. Nina Davis

This book was a fun, lite, fast read. It's a little bit different than the usual chik paranormal romance. First of all there was no sex, just kissing. The Vampires didn't have as many superpowers. They couldn't Glam people and it didn't seem like they were real strong or fast. I kept thinking to myself as i read "why doesn't he just glam her" or "that vampire should be able to kick that humans ass in a second". It was a cute story. Very PG -13.

Okay, with this series, I definitely recommend reading it in order. I didn't and I have to admit...I would have liked this book more if I hadn't read the second book first. Nothing is spoiled for you or anything, it's just that there is a lot of character development from the beginning of this book and the second book.

Regardless, give it a try.

I liked this book a lot. Of course I am a "vampire romance" junkie =)
It is different from books from best selling author Maryjanice Davidson, the theories about vampires are different so it will take you a chapter or 2 to get used to that if your used to reading Maryjanice vampire romance books. I read this book in just 2 days so it was so good that I didn't want to put it down. Whoever gets this book next will enjoy it as well.

This is an author I am unfamiliar with, but it was a refreshing, action filled vampire love story that was just the right level of dark-horror and romance. Michelle Rowen has did a fantasic job, and anxiously await getting the other books in this series. I think I'll have to add her to my list of favortie arthurs, right up there with Charlaine Harris, MaryJanice Davidson and Laurell Hamilton. Way to go, Michelle!

Bitten and Smitten was a breezy, quick read that is more chick lit than paranormal. Excellent way to slightly shake up the existing chick lit formula. Please note that the romance is pretty light and there are no explicit intimacy scenes to speak of, so if these are important, you should pass. But ... there is chemistry and kissing and lots of laugh out loud snarky (think Joss Whedon) humor. The author also peppers enough pop references to keep TV and genre fans quite happy. The heroine speaks much of retail therapy. This was sort of vamp therapy for a warm spring day.

This was a fun book - I started reading it the day that I got it and finished it the next evening.

This is the story of woman who was sneakily turned into a vampire by a blind date and the first week of her life as a vampire - contending with vampire hunters, the "master" vampire who is suicidal, a traitorous vampire, a wedding, more vamp hunters, jealous humans, and her own wavering commitment to being what she is.

Thank goodness for wise "master" vampire Thierry de Bennicoeur, who saves her life, shows her to the nearest vampire hangout and wins her heart in the process. I thought this was a fun book but I think this is a romance for people who dont like a lot of physical contact. They hardly even kiss in the book and I dont think it is a great romance novel which is what it is labeled as. However it is a pretty good vampire book but when an Ann Rice novel is more erotic and that is strictly Sci Fi you know it is a sad day for romance. You see where Im going. If you dont like a lot of sex in your romance this is for you.

All I can say about this book and the whole series in fact...is that I LOVED them!!! The action in the book started off right away and so didn't take a good while to catch my interest. Thierry is hubba hubba and Sarah is funny and very likeable. I love the whole cast of characters. So many parts in this book and all of the others in the series just made me laugh out loud while I was reading. The books aren't overly sexed like alot of others in this genre, but that works out in its favor. They are a hit without all of the play by play sexual interludes. But when love scenes are encountered, the author plays them out with class and finesse..nothing trashy or soft-porn here. Michelle Rowen is now ranked among my favorite authors..alongside Maryjanice Davidson, J.R. Ward, Charlaine Harris and Michele Bardsley. I just wish she hadn't wrapped up the series yet! I would love 5 or 6 more books in the Immortality Bites series!!

Not my favorite. I don't like it when authors make the female lead seem to be bubble headed, and this is just what I found with this book. Maybe I have read too many good Vampire books. Of course there is a dark brooding Master Vampire. Lots of interesting characters, but just not enough intelligence on the Heroine's part for me. It was an OK read.

Great book, easy read, I'll look forward to more from this new author!

Rowen hits the nail (or is it the stake?) on the head with her feisty debut novel about a reluctant vampire trying to cope with her newfound otherworldly status. After a blind date bites Sarah Dearly on the neck and is killed by vampire hunters, she discovers she's not only a vampire but also has been left to learn the ropes of the night by herself. Thank goodness for wise "master" vampire Thierry de Bennicoeur, who saves her life, shows her to the nearest vampire hangout and wins her heart in the process. Next comes a mix of misplaced trust, stakings and bad double dates, all with the goal of outwitting the vampire hunters and getting Thierry to see that Sarah's the one for him. Rowen perfectly balances suspense and wit by tossing in one-liners just when the novel could start getting too serious ("I just need to wash my face and brush my fangs first and we can get out of here," Sarah says). Mentions of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Anne Rice ground the novel and make it a true modern girl's guide to (vampire) life.

Bright side - I met a man. Thierry de Bennicoeur. How great is that name? Anyway, he's sexy, six hundred years old, and a tad suicidal, but no one's perfect, right? And we have a deal - he's gonna show me the ropes of the vampire world, and I'm suppose to help him end his existence. Or maybe I'll just try to convince him life is worth living - no small challenge with the mostly immortal, let me tell you. I'll admit it's a complicated relationship. But with any luck, I just might have a date for that wedding after all. Hugs and kisses, Sarah.

The basis for the story was good. There was alot of action and very little passion. The main characters are great. They are funny, and strong. But this book should have been re-edited for the teen version. Other than a few curse words and a make out session there is nothing heatwise there.
