Oh dear,

Now I've done it.  I found a couple of these at a FOL sale last month.  This weekend I picked them up off the pile and now I'm obssessed!

The good news is that my hubby gave me a barnes and noble gift certificate for mother's day so I can go get the ones I missed- and the latest comes out next week.  The WL on here for the new one is over 600 so I know myself well enough to know I'll never wait!

Sigh.....

Sara

It's always nice when you find a new series to like.  I've read them all - I've always enjoyed the male relationships better in this series.  I think JR Ward writes those quite well - it's the female/male romance part that I don't always love with her.  I will eentually read her latest one that comes out soon - but I'm really not in a mad rush to get it.  I'm still kind of irritated with how the last book resolved itself.

I just started the series too.  I put it off as long as I could.  So far I have only read book 1 but I am hooked too.

I've been hooked on them since they first came out. I wasn't thrilled with the ending on the last book either but I'll read it again as I do right before a new one comes out and maybe I'll see it differently. I'm really excited for Phury's story. :D

Aren't they just yummy? I've been hooked for a couple of month already and i'm dying to read Phurys story. I totally understand you Susan, i was very..surprised doesn't cut it but i can't think of a better word at the end of the fifth book. It's kinda weird. And i'm not really happy about the end but i don't have clue to how i would change the story myself so hmm. xD

I'm missing only Lover Revealed and Lover Enshrined but i think i will cave and buy them at B&N or so. I am around 500 on the WL and i know myself good enough that i won't be able to wait. xD

Same here. I'm not nearly as excited about this series as I use to be. I don't think it's even on my wl.

And I have a bunch of ideas as well, and I've "written" them for friends...they are along the lines of your ideas Susan lol

Well, I started this series last Friday.  I read the first three over the long weekend.  I'm starting Butch's story tonight.  Now that I'm back at work, I won't be able to read as quickly.

Another friend of mine wasn't happy with the ending of the fifth either.  I'm not there yet so can't comment.

I've got a B&N bookcard on its way to me so I guess I know what I'll be buying next week!

Yepp, i totally understand that, lol. The suggestion was so blatant it could have jumped into our faces if we would have stared any harder. xD It does fit with V and it could have fit with Butch. I kinda wanted the story to go that way but alas we will have to fantasize~

I too am totally hooked on this serious....can't wait for the June 3rd so I can get the next book.  I read on J. R. Wards website that she originally planned for about a dozen in this series....I hope she can hold out that long and their all just as good.  Alas, I too was highly disappointed with the ending of the last book.  I hope it was just a fluke and not a sign that there won't be 12 books total.

Ashley - I'd love to read what you've "written" in that vane.  In fact, I wonder if there's any alternative fic for that stuff.

Lilly - you are so right!  That would have really impressed me if she had gone that route.

Even though I haven't read all the current five yet, I'd love to read your alternate ending too, Ashley!

Maybe you could post it somewhere we could all read it!

Rehv?  You love Rehv??  So far, I can't stand him!  (I'm in the first 1/4 of Butch's book).  It'll be interesting to see if I change my mind about him.

I started the series with book 4 from the library   --- didn't know what I was getting into. Loved it -- had to get the rest for my keeper shelf and yes I was a little disappointed with the last book as well.... I'm hoping the next is better but even that premise seems a bit far fetched...

As a side note -- under her Jessica Bird books she wrote about three siblings with a country inn and then another about a lawyer (?) who helped one of the main characters ... I think it was The Billionaire Next Door? but not sure, an Irish guy whose dad beat up him and his brothers..

Anyway (and yes there is a point to this)... In the book the main character talks about growing up and a friend of his who would hang with them ....... the friend was BUTCH... Too funny, at first I was thinking this name is familiar and didn't put it together. Not alot about him but I thought it was neat that she threw his name in .... Butch used to go over to this guy's house to hang out. Small world.

Rhev is interesting and I am curious to see what she does with him - I'm thinking it might involve his bodyguard at the club.

Oh Rhev is sex on legs *gg* and it would be great to get to know the sub vampire races (wasn't he a syphocant or some such thing?). But seriously? I want a book about Therror. He is still young and i bet if she writes a book about him he will be the last one or so.

I'm a groupy for the bad vamps.  What do you all think, though, if Butch and V had gotten women we liked better.  I think she does the men so well, but her women are weak.  I liked the first three women well enough, but I love the men.  I'd go for Butch and V together though, too.  V's ending was a major "what!?!?" moment.  Still, I will be right in line on June 3rd.

I've read some of her Jessica Bird books and was disappointed.  I think they're okay, but after the Brothers ... not.

Somewhere in another thread someone mentioned a new vamp writer -- does anyone recall who that is?
