A compelling series of narratives on black and white relations. The hopes, fears, desires, and dreams of blacks and whites over a span of thirty years.Blauner goes behind the facades, cliches, and stereotypes to examine the forces which have shaped the lives of these Americans as they struggle to cope with a world of rapid change. Interesting how these people think about the changing times and how their lives have affected the way things have come to be. I have seen no other book like it.
