This pushed several of my ick buttons:
-The heroine goes from virgin to whore in 0.2 seconds
-The heroine goes from ignorant virgin to horny sex kitten who gives best sex ever in 0.2 seconds.
-The heroine is very noisy during sex, and several times is described as grunting during sex.
-Several times the heroine says no, but the heros ignore her (and have sex anyway) because they "know" she doesn't really mean it.
-Awkward dialogue and overuse of the word "slit".
-The entire book has a freshman feel to it, I've seen better writing in Jr. High bathroom graffiti.
-Needs an editor and thesaurus.
Very dissapointed in this book. I love the idea of the female lead being dominated by the two males that are going to be sharing her bed, I really don't like the idea of the female lead being totaly and utterly spineless. Yes her character worked with the story, but I spent half the book wanting to smack her and tell her to grow a backbone!
Very hot and steamy!
The plot is far-fetched in a few parts, but it doesn't detract from the overall story.
Blackmailed has explicit scenes between two men and a woman as well as scenes with one man and a woman and includes some bondage. There isn't any male-male interaction. I thought the sex scenes were well-written and not at all degrading to any of the characters.
My husband also enjoyed this book!
While 'Blackmailed' lacks the suspense implied by its title, this menage sex romp is well-written with an unexpected twist at the end. Supporting character Scott will bring a smile to your face and although it seems at times that the heroine, Brianna, lacks assertiveness, her back story explains her submissiveness. Meanwhile, our heroes, Cole and Tyler, care about and cosset the previously abused and neglected Brianna in such a way that you can't help but respect them and wish you had a couple of guys like them adoring you.
Hmmm, I came very close to putting this book down without finishing it. What bothered me so much was the fact that the two guys were initially using her practically as a plaything - without much thought to her at all. It was all about them and what they wanted - first and foremost. To make matters worse, some of the acts were forced and a bit rough. It just pushed the ick button for me. The thing is, the author did try to soften things by tossing in statements about the heroine enjoying it, blah, blah, blah, but it didn't quite ring true or sound plausible. The fact is, things were still forced on her in a way that made me uncomfortable, as in she didn't have a choice and the guys didn't really seem to care.
Thankfully, things did change for the better when the two guys came to realize how much they loved her and that she was in danger, but the beginning still left a bit of a lingering bad taste. All in all, it's not a bad book. It has a nicely tied up ending and I loved the secondary character - her brother Scott. Plus that, as you can see from a lot of the other reviews here, many people loved this book, so maybe it's just me.
This was such a good book I could not put it down till I finished it.
The premise for the storyline was intriguing, but ugh, the characters were just too unbelievable. The heroine goes from virgin to "accomplished' in her first experience - no way. And the two heroes - NO man acts like that, & calls her 'little one' & 'baby' just too many times - yuk, gag. The sex scenes were so graphic & explicit & straightforward that they lost their erotic edge. This could have been really good erotica, but it wasn't.
The writing is not awful, but the plot is. I know you are thinking, hey - it's a smut book of two guys on a virgin what do you expect? Well, smut doesn't have to be stupid, just look at Lorelei James, Megan Hart or Robin Schone.
Move along, there is nothing to see here.
I was a bit disappointed with Blackmailed. I really wanted to like it as I love menages, but this one just didn't do it for me. The heroine was a spineless, weak-willed woman. She never did try to find a way around the blackmail; she just decided to do whatever they wanted. When I start rolling my eyes after 30 pages, it doesn't bode well.
Lots of hot sex, some mild bondage and spanking. The men were well written (and well-endowed!) but the woman was a wimp and looks nothing like pictured.
Hoped for M/M action didn't occur.
Still it was a good read.
WOW.......HOT doesn't even beginn to describe this book. But the amazing thing is that it has a great story along with all the steamy sex scenes. She is offered to him by her father who wants an heir (her sick brother isn't good enough) & he is willing to pass off his daughter's child as his own. He wants a rich man who is known to share his women with his friend to be the father. She isn't what they expect & they both fall in love with her & will do anything to protect her. Looking forward to more of her books.
I started not to get this book because of the the reviews. I'm glad I went ahead and ordered it. Yes things moved fast sexually, but that is part of the story line. This young woman would do any thing to protect her blind and partially deaf brother from her evil fathers manipulative ways. If that meant having a baby by this rich man" Cole" so be it. It also meant doing all that Cole ask of her for him to step in and protect her brother, even accept his body guard into their bed. I will not spoil it by telling how the story ended, I do hope you will read this your self.
The sex was hot. The story was ridiculous.
The Good: Steamy hot scenes, hot guys, an actual story line
The Bad: Story line was just so-so, but good enough for this kind of book and things moved a little too quickly to be believable.
It's hard to find good books like these without paranormal elements. This one is definitely a keeper. Sorry PBS!!!
I enjoyed it - the dialogue was witty. It's a keeper. There is a loosely related 'sequel' story in The Perfect Gift anthology.
Loved it. Definately a keeper.
quite a fast read. Lots of sex & twisted at the end
Very sexy! I enjoyed this one A LOT!!!!!!!
It definitely had some hot scenes, good for a one time read for me.
Ditto on fangrrl' s review. She said it all.
