I just picked up Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter:  anyone read any of the series yet?

Yup, I read the first one several months ago.  It was good.  Just so you know, despite the cute title, it's NOT a cozy mystery.    The main character is a fomer policewoman.   She left the force when her husband and daughter were killed, and is still very much dealing with that grief.  So it's not really a light and fluffy series.   Plus she stumbles upon a few crime scenes in the book that are described fairly graphically.   But I loved the setting (the Florida keys), the animals that are in the book, and connected with the characters - so I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

ETA:  I thought the mystery was also well plotted and developed.

Yes I already discovered its not a true cozy: she writes well doesnt she: the descriptions etc are really good.  and I quite like the additional depth to the character: I guess I'm not a true cozy fan as such.  I'm really enjoying it and have already started looking for the other  books in the series.

I'd never heard of the author before though

I have read all of them to date and I am looking forward to more.  I think it's a great series.
