Wonderful historical romance, but make sure you read "Pride of Lions" first
The continuation or sequel to "The Pride of Lions." Great read! I couldn't wait to find out how the story ended. (All right, I knew it was going to be a happy ending, but still.) Scottish spy marries English lass. Highly recommend!
Great book! Don't read this one without reading The Pride of Lions first!
Good romance set around the time of the '45 rising in Scotland and the battle of Culloden. Memorable characters. Sequel to Pride of Lions.
An excellent book surrounding the events of the Battle of Culloden. The continuing story of Alex and Catherine Cameron and how they manage to survive the the prelude and outcome of Culloden. You must read the Pride of Lions first before this book.
More historical vs less character driven.
One of the most profound, deeply moving stories I have ever read.
Sequel to "The Pride of Lions". Read it first for the story background. This book contains lots of historical information. The author does an excellent job of combining both real and fictional characters to tell the story of the Jacobite War which tried to put Charles Stuart on the throne of Scotland and England.
The battle scenes at Culloden are haunting. I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to finish the book as it was so gripping a story I could not put it down.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys good historical fiction.
I truly enjoyed myself in this book it was the first book I have read from Marsha Canham I look forward to reading more of her work. Keep up the good work Marsha
I loved this book. It is more historical then "The Pride of Lions" the first in the series. Read that one first as it gives the background of the story. I really felt that although some of the characters were fictional and some were real the intermixing of the two was flawless. The battle scenes at Culloden still stay with me even though it has been a few days since I read this. She weaves in some good sub-plots and kept me second guessing myself for the "who done it's" a couple of times. Really a great book and highly recommended.
I enjoyed reading this book.
One of my favorite historical romances ever. Marsha Canham is an excellent author.
This is the sequel to Pride of the Lions. This book was very, very good. Loved it!
She was born an Englishwoman, but he made her a Scot, pledged to fight for her beloved husband-even against the country of her birth. Catherine Ashbrooke Cameron had committed the unpardonable sin of falling in love with her husband-a Scottish spy she married in her English home. Now, as she raced to the Highlands, into the strong, tender arms of Alexander Cameron, the innocent English beauty would learn the passions of war-and the price of love. He fought to keep her safe as he battled the English enemy and betrayal from within. Alexander Cameron was a man with a price on his head and enemies to burn. Love had made the legendary warrior vulnerable. Now he must protect Cathering from the dangers that threatened them both. But as he rode into battle against the English, she refused to stay behind. He had claimed her, touched her, loved her, and she vowed nothing would ever separate them again.
