An excellent book surrounding the events of the Battle of Culloden. The continuing story of Alex and Catherine Cameron and how they manage to survive the the prelude and outcome of Culloden. You must read the Pride of Lions first before this book.

Sequel to "The Pride of Lions". Read it first for the story background. This book contains lots of historical information. The author does an excellent job of combining both real and fictional characters to tell the story of the Jacobite War which tried to put Charles Stuart on the throne of Scotland and England.
The battle scenes at Culloden are haunting. I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to finish the book as it was so gripping a story I could not put it down.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys good historical fiction.

I loved this book. It is more historical then "The Pride of Lions" the first in the series. Read that one first as it gives the background of the story. I really felt that although some of the characters were fictional and some were real the intermixing of the two was flawless. The battle scenes at Culloden still stay with me even though it has been a few days since I read this. She weaves in some good sub-plots and kept me second guessing myself for the "who done it's" a couple of times. Really a great book and highly recommended.
