Catherine Coulter's Savich & Sherlock series is one of my faves for action; there's always a side of romance and it's not as dark as some FBI-related series are.

Synopsis
Brutal murders shake up Washington's judicial elite in Catherine Coulter's ninth FBI thriller. The quiet weekend in a forest cabin that married FBI agents Savich and Sherlock have planned for themselves and their young son is interrupted when a frantic, nearly incoherent woman fleeing an unseen killer approaches Savich's stopped car. Then the couple is called back to Washington to solve the killing of a Supreme Court Justice, strangled the night before the opening of a high-profile death-penalty case, as well as the subsequent deaths of two of the Justice's clerks.

This was the first Coulter book I've read, and I was intrigued by the husband-wife crimefighting team- it definitely adds a whole new layer of 'plot' to the story. This story starts off supernaturally, but that first storyline dies off for a while, so if you're not into ghost stories, it's still a good read!

Sherlock and Savich are back again solving two mysteries at once - a murder that occured 30 years ago and the garroting of a Justice of the Supreme Court. Joined by a yummy local cop, Ben Raven, and the daughter of the murdered Justice (romance afoot), the two FBI agents wrap up an exciting adventure in crime solving. Very good book typical of all of Coulter's. Great read!

Coulters maturing of the Sherlock and Savage team is obvious in this continuation of her FBI thriller series. The story is gripping and keeps you wondering who did what. I was alittle dissappointed in how easy it was for Savage to figure out who the killer was and the "ghost" of a women murdered 30 years ago coming to Savage on the side of the road while he changed a blow out was differrent but the story flowed well and keeps you reading. Overall this is a great read and I recomend it to Coulter fans

The latest in prolific novelist Coulter's series of FBI thrillers once again features high-powered husband and wife team Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock. In the middle of a long-awaited vacation with their young son, the two are called to investigate the heinous midnight murder of a Supreme Court Justice, committed in the Court's library despite tight, round-the-clock security. The FBI is aided in the case by the CIA, Secret Service and metropolitan police as well as by the judge's stepdaughter, an investigative reporter for the Washington Post. Yet within 48 hours, two of the Justice's young law clerks are murdered in the same grisly fashionthe lovable Daniel strangled with his own St. Christopher medal chain, and the formidable Eliza killed while she's on the phone with Savich. A long weekend in the Pocono's is cut short when Sherlock and Savich are helicoptered back to Washington to lead the investigation into the brutal murder of a Supreme Court Justice.
Savich allows Callie Markham, an investigative reporter for the Washington Post, to partner with local Metro Police liaison Ben Raven, since she's got the inside track - she's the stepdaughter of the murdered justice. Despite Detective Raven's unwillingness to have a civilian along, Callie Markham ends up riding shotgun to help look for her stepfather's murderer.
Within the nest twenty-four hours, there's another murder with the same M.O.
Savich learns he must also solve a thirty-year-old crime after a psychic encounter with the murder victim, Samantha Barrister, who suddenly appears in front of his car and hysterically pleads for his help. Savich and Sherlock discover that at the time of her death Samantha had a six-year-old son, who disappeared as a teenager.

FBI agents Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock return in a dazzling new thriller. Blowout takes excitement to an all-time high level.
Married FBI agents Savich and Sherlock work and play hard: devoted to their jobs, their son, and each other, they approach each new case with gusto, and appreciate every moment of downtime they can grab. But a long weekend getaway at a secluded cabin in the Pennsylvania woods is cut short when the agents are summoned back to Washington, where a nightmare awaits them: The night before the Supreme Court is to hear opening arguments in a highly controversial death-penalty case, a prominent judge is murdered in the court's third-floor library. Savich and Sherlock are charged with heading the investigation but when the killings continue, each targeting another brilliant, successful Washington power broker, the agents are faced with their most baffling and shocking case of their lives.
