This book got me hooked into reading the entire series! I loved it and I never wanted to put this one down. It seems as though for me this was the best mix of suspense and romance Roberts has ever done.

I really liked the characters and I was kept interested in the ghost story; wanting to read more to find out who she was and why she was there. I also liked how there were subplots that you can tell are going to be brought up in one of the next two books in this triology

The #1 "New York Times" bestselling author begins an all-new trilogy in which three women discover friendship, love, and a shocking secret right in their own backyard. Original.

Book One of Nora Roberts's In the Garden trilogy sets the stage beautifully. Garden lovers will love the design detail especially.

I don't usually read Nora Roberts's books, but decided to try this trilogy. It's a laid-back romance. I found it enjoyable, and will be ordering the 2nd book.

I have not written reviews for all of Nora Roberts trilogies, but most all have something to do with the paranormal. I am not one for the paranormal. I really don't believe in it. But I must say, her trilogies, just pulled me into her books, after this particular series. They are all terrific. However, you always need to start with the first book. They usual all revolve around some type of relationships, which is different in each book and a some type of paranormal circumstance. It is interwoven together. I have read them all, except two sets, which I have already ordered through here and am anxious to get to them. They are beyond terrific. Nora Roberts really has a talent beyond belief. Some contain a little humor to help more the story line along. So basically, they are mystery, paranormal with a touch of humor. You will hardly be able to put the book down. You will not be disappointed. I would like to write this for all of hers, but maybe at a later time. Enjoy, if you decide this is something you would be interested in.

This book is about Stella Rothchild, who's a widow with two young boys and decides it's time for a change for her and her boys. She gets an opportunity to work for Roz Harper at In The Garden, a nursery in Memphis, TN. Part of the agreement concerning her new position is to live with Roz in her huge estate, Harper House. While adjusting to her new position, her new home, and new friends, she also finds herself dealing with The Harper Bride, a ghost out for retribution. If all this isn't enough, she finds herself falling in love with the headstrong Logan Kitridge. Stella, being the strong and determined woman she is, finds a way to protect what's hers. I enjoy reading Nora Roberts's books and this one has always been one of my favorites.
I love this series from Nora Roberts. This first book is about the woman Roselyn hires to oversee her nursery. The woman has recently lost her husband in a tragic accident, and has two young boys. She is able to move in the Roselyn's family mansion, and eventually finds love.
I truly do enjoy Nora Roberts books.
good book
great ghost story
The beginning was a little "dry" - a slow start. Once you get past the beginning it picks up and gets interesting. I would recommend this book.
The first of the "In the Garden" trilogy. A classic Nora Roberts trilogy with suspense, the supernatural and a lot of information about running a nursery. I loved the main character (a fiery widow w/ small children) and her love interest is delightfully gruff.
After hearing about Nora Roberts for some time, I decided to read this book based on good reviews. I felt it was a semi-intriguing story, but the writing was far from captivating. I love mysteries and fiction in general and this one fell short of what I had expected from such a well known and well loved author.
THIS IS the 1st OF A 3 SERIES...COULDN'T SET IT DOWN. ROMANTIC, great story line. a must read all 3
Loved this trilogy! I couldn't put the books down, I just had to know what happens
The first book in the Garden Trilogy. I have read all three and they are guaranteed to keep your attention and never let you down.
This is a great, entertaining series. If you are a fan of the author, I recommend that you have the whole series before starting to read because you will drive yourself nuts at 2am waiting for the next one. Fine Nora Roberts romantic suspense.
Very enjoyable. I need to read all 3 books now.
Really enjoyed the characters in this Roberts book.
Book 1 of the In the Garden trilogy written by Nora Roberts. Read this one and then eagerly started the second one. I ordered the third one today. Does that tell you that I enjoyed them!? LOL The author brings the characters (even the ghost, Amelia!) into life so that you really want to know what happens to them.
A great series!
A great series!

prettty good
Good start to the series!
A trite and derivative formula novel. Of COURSE the pretty and spunky heroine will rise from her tragedy and find a handson-yet-difficult prince charming. Mind candy of the cheapest kind.

I delayed reading this book due to the gardening/flowers theme as that is just not my thing. I'm glad I finally picked this up though, as it is typical NR. Wonderful storyline, terrific characters and sweet romance. I honestly haven't read anything by Nora Roberts that I haven't liked. She is amazing!

Book One of the In the Garden Trilogy - EXCELLENT!! Loved these books!
Flower metaphors run amok in this first installment of Roberts's newest trilogy, which focuses on a quaint nursery called In the Garden and the haunted estate neighboring it. The book starts out at a plodding pace, with the sudden death of Stella Rothchild's beloved husband and her subsequent move, with her two young boys, from Michigan to the outskirts of Memphis. Fortunately, the pace picks up after Stella plants her roots at Harper estate and secures a job managing In the Garden, which is owned by Roz Harper, the same blunt, self-assured woman who presides over the estate. Though strictly regimented Stella forms a fast friendship with Roz, she clashes with Logan Kitridge, the nursery's sexy landscape designer. Logan is the antithesis of Stella—brash and impulsive, he thrives on chaos—but their enmity inevitably gives way to love. The scenes between them crackle with wit, charm and sexual tension, and are rivaled only by the warm relationships that develop among Stella, Roz and Hayley, a distant relative of Roz's who comes to the estate seeking a fresh start. Less effective is a subplot involving a ghost who doesn't seem to approve of Stella's relationship with Logan. This thread provides a few spooky moments, but it would have been more effective without the prologue's clichéd setup. While this book isn't vintage Roberts, it's a promising start to a new series.

great book!
This is the first book in the Garden Trilogy. I love everything I have read by Nora Roberts. This is no exception. If you like romance, you won't be able to put this one down.
I have the whole In the Garden Trilogy ( Three books) posted
Stella is a young woman and mother of two boys who is still reeling from the death of her husband. She moves from Michigan to Memphis to be closer to her family and to work as a nursery manager for Roz Harper. She moves into Roz's mansion with her two sons and begins reorganizing Roz's business.
She butts heads with the landscaper, Logan, but annoyance soons turns to attraction and she finds herself embroiled in a wild romance. To make things better, Logan is great with her children. There is only one problem, a ghost who doesn't want them together.
Stella thinks she's losing her mind when she sees a ghost singing to her children. However she soon learns that Roz, all the boys who used to live in the house, and Hayley, a young pregnant cousin of Roz's who comes to live with them, have all seen the ghost. The only problem is the ghost is now hostile to Logan and Stella. Can they overcome their difficulties and avoid a dangerous, meddlesome ghost? "

First in the garden triology-
Another great series for roberts!
Fun series about love at all stages of life.
I always enjoy Nora Roberts' books. This one is no exception. Great read!
This was a great Nora Roberts book. I enjoyed it as well as the rest of the series, despite the fact that I'm not into books with ghosts.
three women met at a crossroads in their lives each searching for new ways to grow and find in each other the courage to take chances and embrace the futhure.
After finishing this book in the triology, I had to continue on to Black Rose (Book 2).
I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in the Garden trilogy. It made me anxious to get to the others! I loved the very real characters.
very enjoyable read.
Stella Rothchild loves everything about her new job as manager of In the Garden nursery. She appreciates her new, no-nonsense boss, "Roz" Harper, and she doesn't even mind living with Roz at Harper House, despite the fact that the ghost of the "Harper Bride" reportedly haunts the historic mansion. When a young and pregnant Hayley Phillips, a distant relative of Roz's, shows up at Harper House, she becomes a valued friend. The only thing Stella doesn't like about her situation is the ruggedly sexy yet completely annoying landscaper, Logan. Despite Stella's best efforts to develop a professional working relationship with him, he seems to have little time and no patience for her efforts to reorganize the nursery. Then Logan completely disrupts Stella's careful plans for her future by asking her out. Roberts, the queen of romance, launches a new trilogy with a captivating tale in which her considerable talents at creating richly compelling characters and witty, spellbinding stories come into full bloom in a paranormal-tinged romance.
A great read by a great author. Stella, a widow with two young sons, returns to early chilhood home in Tenn. She takes a job with Harper garden and meet a hunky landscaper. Along with their developing relationship, is the growing friendship with Liz Harper, her boss.
I enjoy all of Nora Roberts books
After Stella's was widowed with two children she moved back to Memphis near her father. It was here that she began a new life along with an adventure she didn't expect. Living in the Harper House she encountered the Harper bride, the family ghost. She also found two friends who were also at a crossroad in their lives. When she opens her heart to a new love, she discovers that she will have to fight to the death to protect what's hers.
First book in a series of three. Typical Nora Roberts novel with romance and mystery combined in a can't put it down fashion.
book 1 of the garden series. Great characters Its about 3 women who havent had the best luck with men. One woman owns a flower nursery and the other 2 come to work for her. There is a ghost that lives among them and they try to help it and set it free in each book.

A lovely story of a widow from Michigan moving to Tennessee with her two young sons to take the reins of a garden center. The story follows a few months of her acclimation - complete with ghosts, a new love, and a wonderful household of women. I enjoyed Blue Dahlia very much.
Book One in Nora Roberts' Garden Trilogy. I also have Books Two and Three.
Great romance with a ghost added. Best if you read the 3 books in order.
I thought that this was an interesting romance twist. The ghost really is a bit creepy. I did enjoy the book.

Blue Dahlia celebrates gardening and can-do women who have both grit and style. A recent widow returns with her children to her family roots in the South in order manage a nursery. They end up living in the fabulous house owned by her new boss and she falls in love with the lanscape architect. Throw in a ghost story and it's just about perfect. A very satisfying read.

loved the book.
This story is all about girl power! Come to think of it, Nora Roberts is all about girl Power. But this story is the first of the "In the Garden" Trilogy. It about three women who find each other when they each need a friend. It's set in Memphis and tells how each of the three women finds the love of their lives and in the meantime settle an old family mystery and drive away a ghost.
This is the first novel of the In the Garden trilogy. Against the backdrop of a house steeped in history and a thriving new gardening business, three women unearth the memories of the past and uncover a dangerous secret. The book contains everything . . a young widow and mother of two young children looking for a fresh start; a budding romance; even an unhappy ghost thrown in to cause some trouble. It's an easy and entertaining read.

I really enjoyed this book for what it was. :)
I normally pick up Nora Roberts when I want a comfortable, cozy read with a lush feeling surrounding it due to the settings she places her trilogies in. I love Nora Roberts descriptions and geological settings for her trilogies because they are always so rich and make me want to hop into a flowery bubble bath. I really enjoyed reading about the gardening and flower shop, as well as the Harper ghost, but as usual and predicted, the romance was corny. I had to stop and read a few corny lines to my SO because it was too funny.

a classic Nora romance, with mystery, intrigue and fascinating characters. Book 1 of a 3 part series.
I love Nora Roberts
This book is the first of a trilogy by Nora Roberts. Good beach reading, love story and flowers are an important part of the storyline. The next two in the trilogy are good, too. I have to find them somewhere in my house and then will list.
Holds up to the Nora Roberts standards. A bit predictable, but aren't all these types of books. A good escape.

Great story, but I think the ending is kind of abrupt.
Enjoyed this series immensely!

A wonderful series. If you like to garden and you like romance, you will be able to really appreciate these books. This is book 1 of the series.
A little slower than some of her books, but it is still Roberts

roberts at her best
I enjoyed it very much even though romance is not my favorite genre. It was a good, quick read for a rainy Sunday.
After reading this first book of the trilogy, I was eager for the next two. There is a ghost in the background.

Great series
I enjoyed this series.
This is the beginning of a trilogy about three women who have met and live and work together at a huge nursery with plants and are trying to find out who this ghost is who has haunted the place for centuries. Excellent trilogy.
All the fun, mystery & romance we've come to expect from Nora Roberts! High recommendations - perfect rainy day reading!
In the first book in Nora Roberts' Garden Trilogy, Stella loves and fights to protect what is hers.
Excellent first book of series!
This is the first book in a three book series. I really enjoyed this book. The book tells not only the Stella's story, but introduces you to another charter who becomes as important as the main charters in the book.

Excellent Book! Easy read. I have very much enjoyed the story lines in this book as there are different things going on keeping my interest. This is my first (believe it or not!) Nora Roberts. I CANNOT WAIT TO READ the next book in this Trilogy BLACK ROSE! This is hands down one of my favorites books.
the first in a wonderful trilogy that was a great read!
Stella has a passion for planning that keeps her from taking too many risk. But when she opens her heart to a new love, she discovers that she will fight to the death to protect what's hers.
One of three books dealing with the lives of three strong women and a ghost.
Book 1 of the "In the Garden" trilogy, this book centers on Stella - a widow looking to rebuild her life for the sake of her two young boys. It also begins a mystery that will continue through the trilogy - a family ghost who seems both pathetically sad and potentially destructive.
I usually love Nora Roberts but this one was boring.
Good book.
I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. Now I am anxious to read the next one.
Typical of Nora Roberts, she has a mix of romance, mystery, and family in her "In The Garden" trilogy. I'm working on #2 now and looking for #3.
wondrefull book can't wait to read the rest
The first book in the "In the Garden" trilogy by Nora Roberts. It was good but I am hoping the next one is better. I felt there was a little something missing.
Nora Roberts has just gotten better and better! I couldn't put this one down and now can't wait to read the second in this trilogy. I'm a writer and the only thing I don't like about this book is that I didn't think up that storyline myself. EXCELLENT!!!
great!
this is a good book for gardeners and plant lovers. I dont think it quite measured up to the last book by this author that I read.. River's End.. Of course, I'm on to the 2nd in this trilogy nonetheless..
This is the 1st book in "In the Garden" trilogy.

Great introduction to a new trilogy by Nora Roberts. I believe no one writes trilogies in quite the same way she does.

Another winner from Ms. Roberts. I don't how she does but she keeps coming up with the most wonderful stories. I couldn't wait to get to the next book in the series.
Very interesting characters and story line of how the three main women characters came to meet.
I love Nora Roberts. This book showcases one of her best abilities, and that is characterization. There are three strong women in this novel, all of which you feel like you could be friends with.
This novel is about the blending of these three strong women. They work in a gardening and landscaping atmosphere, another plus if you love gardening like I do!
There is also a background love story and even a haunting.
If you are a Nora Roberts fan, this is a must read.
