This book got me hooked into reading the entire series! I loved it and I never wanted to put this one down. It seems as though for me this was the best mix of suspense and romance Roberts has ever done.

I really liked the characters and I was kept interested in the ghost story; wanting to read more to find out who she was and why she was there. I also liked how there were subplots that you can tell are going to be brought up in one of the next two books in this triology

I have not written reviews for all of Nora Roberts trilogies, but most all have something to do with the paranormal. I am not one for the paranormal. I really don't believe in it. But I must say, her trilogies, just pulled me into her books, after this particular series. They are all terrific. However, you always need to start with the first book. They usual all revolve around some type of relationships, which is different in each book and a some type of paranormal circumstance. It is interwoven together. I have read them all, except two sets, which I have already ordered through here and am anxious to get to them. They are beyond terrific. Nora Roberts really has a talent beyond belief. Some contain a little humor to help more the story line along. So basically, they are mystery, paranormal with a touch of humor. You will hardly be able to put the book down. You will not be disappointed. I would like to write this for all of hers, but maybe at a later time. Enjoy, if you decide this is something you would be interested in.

Fabulous! This is my first time reading Nora Roberts and I must say that I am hooked. She is a wonderful writer and storyteller. Blue Dahlia was so captivating I couldn't put it down. Now I can't wait for the next one in this series to come out!

This book is about Stella Rothchild, who's a widow with two young boys and decides it's time for a change for her and her boys. She gets an opportunity to work for Roz Harper at In The Garden, a nursery in Memphis, TN. Part of the agreement concerning her new position is to live with Roz in her huge estate, Harper House. While adjusting to her new position, her new home, and new friends, she also finds herself dealing with The Harper Bride, a ghost out for retribution. If all this isn't enough, she finds herself falling in love with the headstrong Logan Kitridge. Stella, being the strong and determined woman she is, finds a way to protect what's hers. I enjoy reading Nora Roberts's books and this one has always been one of my favorites.

I love this series from Nora Roberts. This first book is about the woman Roselyn hires to oversee her nursery. The woman has recently lost her husband in a tragic accident, and has two young boys. She is able to move in the Roselyn's family mansion, and eventually finds love.
I truly do enjoy Nora Roberts books.

The beginning was a little "dry" - a slow start. Once you get past the beginning it picks up and gets interesting. I would recommend this book.
The first of the "In the Garden" trilogy. A classic Nora Roberts trilogy with suspense, the supernatural and a lot of information about running a nursery. I loved the main character (a fiery widow w/ small children) and her love interest is delightfully gruff.
After hearing about Nora Roberts for some time, I decided to read this book based on good reviews. I felt it was a semi-intriguing story, but the writing was far from captivating. I love mysteries and fiction in general and this one fell short of what I had expected from such a well known and well loved author.
THIS IS the 1st OF A 3 SERIES...COULDN'T SET IT DOWN. ROMANTIC, great story line. a must read all 3

The first book in the Garden Trilogy. I have read all three and they are guaranteed to keep your attention and never let you down.
This is a great, entertaining series. If you are a fan of the author, I recommend that you have the whole series before starting to read because you will drive yourself nuts at 2am waiting for the next one. Fine Nora Roberts romantic suspense.

Book 1 of the In the Garden trilogy written by Nora Roberts. Read this one and then eagerly started the second one. I ordered the third one today. Does that tell you that I enjoyed them!? LOL The author brings the characters (even the ghost, Amelia!) into life so that you really want to know what happens to them.

I delayed reading this book due to the gardening/flowers theme as that is just not my thing. I'm glad I finally picked this up though, as it is typical NR. I read The Pagan Stone trilogy,it was great. I was turned on to Nora's books by a friend of mine. I love her books now. So I read this book and it was very interesting and the story reads well. I finished it in a day and a half. I would recommend her books, definitely. Can't wait to start the 2nd one in this trilogy.

The book starts out at a plodding pace, with the sudden death of Stella Rothchild's beloved husband and her subsequent move, with her two young boys, from Michigan to the outskirts of Memphis. Fortunately, the pace picks up after Stella plants her roots at Harper estate and secures a job managing In the Garden, which is owned by Roz Harper, the same blunt, self-assured woman who presides over the estate. Though strictly regimented Stella forms a fast friendship with Roz, she clashes with Logan Kitridge, the nursery's sexy landscape designer. Logan is the antithesis of Stella—brash and impulsive, he thrives on chaos—but their enmity inevitably gives way to love. The scenes between them crackle with wit, charm and sexual tension, and are rivaled only by the warm relationships that develop among Stella, Roz and Hayley, a distant relative of Roz's who comes to the estate seeking a fresh start. Less effective is a subplot involving a ghost who doesn't seem to approve of Stella's relationship with Logan. This thread provides a few spooky moments, but it would have been more effective without the prologue's clichéd setup. While this book isn't vintage Roberts, it's a promising start to a new series.

Loved it! Very layered story line and romance to boot!
A lovely story of a widow from Michigan moving to Tennessee with her two young sons to take the reins of a garden center. The story follows a few months of her acclimation - complete with ghosts, a new love, and a wonderful household of women. I enjoyed Blue Dahlia very much.

What an introduction to a new (to me) author! This was the first book I read by Nora Roberts and I immediately went out and bought Black Rose, then I waited anxiously for Red Lily to arrive! This serious is a must read!

As always, Nora Roberts is an excellent read.... this is the 1st of three books of the "In the Garden Trilogy" about three women at the cross roads of their lives, each searching for new ways to grow. This one is about Stella.
Stella Rothchild loves everything about her new job as manager of In the Garden nursery. She appreciates her new, no-nonsense boss, "Roz" Harper, and she doesn't even mind living with Roz at Harper House, despite the fact that the ghost of the "Harper Bride" reportedly haunts the historic mansion. When a young and pregnant Hayley Phillips, a distant relative of Roz's, shows up at Harper House, she becomes a valued friend. I normally pick up Nora Roberts when I want a comfortable, cozy read with a lush feeling surrounding it due to the settings she places her trilogies in. I love Nora Roberts descriptions and geological settings for her trilogies because they are always so rich and make me want to hop into a flowery bubble bath. This is a book about 3 women who are at a crossroads in their lives. They meet and then the find themselves and eachother. this series is awesome. as all the rest.
Can't wait to read the next one!

I just love Nora Roberts. She has been one of my favorite authors for a very long time. This book lives up to her previous works, in that it has the same care to detail, and character development. Great read, would strongly recommend.

Nora Roberts, a great book that you will not be able to stop reading.
