This is one of the truly marvelous travel books ever written. Moorehead is tireless, but never tiresome, thorough without being tedious. You may not be interested in the area of the world that the Blue Nile runs through, but you will be interested in the writing and what Moorehead has to say. Enjoy the trip. S.

I loved this book. Moorhead is such a great story teller. I learned about events and people from history that I knew nothing about. Egypt is such a varied and exciting place. He writes so well you will not want the book to end.
