is there a way to put  books on your shelf on hold for bob trades. in others making so members can only see the titles that you want them to  when doing bob swaps. for instance if you don't want to send certain books out in bob swaps  is there a way to hide them so that other bob members are not able to see them/ request them for swaps?

No. (unless they've changed it since I was a boxer).  If it's on your shelf then you should be prepared to offer it to boxers.  That doesn't mean you have to accept any box offers made for those books.

eta: it's also ok to do uneven trades.  So if someone requests a couple of heavy hardcovers from you and has nothing but paperbacks, you can ask for extra paperbacks and they are free to say yes or no.
