Seattle detective is challenged to solve a crime and save his wife's reputation.
This one was hard for me to initially get into, but once it caught, it was full of twists and turns.
One of his best! Kept me on edge and reading to get all the twists and turns solved.
I always enjoy Ridley Pearson's writing.
I really like anything Ridley Pearson writes.
As much as I like Ridley Pearson, for some reason I just wasn't able to get into this book and abandoned it after only 70 pages.
I'm sure it is probably as good as his others, but just not for me. At least not at this time.
Like most of Ridley Pearson's great books, this one has so many twists and turns you'll be dizzy!!
A policeman, his wife and her affair that has come back to haunt them yet again.
Lt. Lou Boldt is still top cop in the ninth installment of Pearson's Seattle Police Department series. (Undercurrents; No Witnesses; etc.). This time the case involves Boldt's wife, Liz, who's weathered many a storm throughout her marriage: chemotherapy, a separation, the kidnapping of their daughter and now the revelation of her affair with David Hayes, a computer whiz at the bank where she's an executive. Hayes embezzled $17 million and went to jail, but now he's free and the never-recovered money has both cops and robbers interested in his whereabouts. Liz had nothing to do with the theft, but Russian mobster Gen. Yasmani Svengrad (known as the Sturgeon General because he's the head of a caviar importing company) thinks the money belongs to him, and she's the key to getting it back.
Lou Boldt's wife had an affair with an embezzler at the bank. He went to jail but now he is out and the money has never been recovered. The Russian mob thinks Liz is the key to recovering the money so Lou must find the money while protecting his wife. Very good book
This was an exciting read. It's a combination of detective work, banking, embezzlement, hi-tech and intrigue. My book club read and enjoyed it. I'll look for Ridley Pearson books with the same lead characers.
A book in the Lou Boldt series, this time it gets personal for Lou.
UNABRIDGED: 10 hours on 7 cassettes
This was a good book in that it had many twists and turns. A perfect story about why a person shouldn't have an affair while still married! You get what you deserve, perhaps?
