I enjoyed Breath, Eyes, Memory by Edwidge Danticat. It is a very sad story though. 235 pages. Print is pretty large though, I read it in about 2 days, could not put it down.

I also really enjoyed The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon. Very easy read. 240 pages.

I recently heard about a book club in a neighboring community whose members are all mothers of young children and one retired woman college professor.  They deliberately choose books of around 200 pages for their monthly selections.  One of their selections was The Ladies No.1 Detective Agency, by Alexander McCall Smith.  It's the first of a delightful series about an extrordinary problem-solving woman in Botswana.  My professor friend said everyone enjoyed the book.

I could also suggest Women of the Silk, by Gail Tsukayama.  It's about a Chinese girl from a poverty-stricken family whose father sells her to become  a worker in the factory where cocoons are processed into silk thread.  It's hot, tedious work for long hours, but it IS one other destiny for a female other than marriage to a poor farmer or prostitution.  Personally, I'm glad I ran across this little book.

The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom is short, around 200 pages, and we had a very good discussion at my book club meeting.

My book club has a 350 page limit because two of our members prefer shorter books so I am going to list a few we have enjoyed discussing:

The Persian Pickle Club by Sandra Dallas

Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress by Dai Sijie

The Alchemist – Paulo Coehlo

The Diary of Mattie Spenser by Sandra Dallas

I just read One In A Million by Kimberla Lawson Roby and really enjoyed it.  About 185 pages.  Very quick read!

Ellen Foster.    It's very short, but it is a gem.

Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri

It's a set of short stories by the author of The Namesake and it's only 160 pages.  I've read 3 of the stories so far and they're all very and would be good for discussion.
