I got a chuckle out of that ... I opened the packaged and there it was .. the inside layer wrapped in strips and layers of toilet paper. No chaffed butt for my book! :P

Funny, but I would love to know what sort of protection they thought that was actually going to offer the book!?!? Now the plastic that the roll of TP came in would be a different matter!

Maybe it was the extra absorbant kind and the sender thought this would keep it waterproof ;)

Wow- that's right up there with the one that came packaged with dryer lint on the strange packaging list!  Wonder what the point of that was...is the book you ordered particularly delicate and/or fragile?  LOL

See now, if it were me, I would see if it was someone I knew...I would take it as a message that they know I'm "full of it." LOL

Maybe it's their polite way of saying the book was shite?  ;)

ROFLMAO!!!

I can relate. I hate sending a book that I know is going to be a stinker. I always want to warn the requestor, but stinkers are in the eyes of the reader, I guess.

About the dryer sheet....I have heard from others that the sheet can help to remove odors that the receiver may notice.  Anyone else ever heard that?

Jackie...please do not package a dryer sheet in with the book...this can cause severe health reactions for some individuals, doesn't remove the odor just covers it....

Yes, please please don't use dryer sheets. I am not allergic to them (as some people are), but I find the odor to be overpowering, and much worse, usually, than whatever smell it was trying to cover.

I actually just sent a book wrapped in the plastic from toilet paper as a water barrier. The person I sent it to had a good chuckle.

It may work, but the end result will be a book that smells like the dryer sheet which may be even worse for the recipient.  I am allergic to most "perfume" smells and would find a book that smelled like a dryer sheet to be very offensive.

I could really appreciate that padding right about now!  I'm the only female in a house with 3 males.  They don't appreciate my need for TP.  It's difficult to get them to buy it on a regular basis.  I've been stashing extra rolls around so I have some back-up in the emergency situaions.  I'm threatening to buy it on Amazon now.

Well, whatever the sender was thinking, I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of it!  ;-)
