That pretty much says it all.  There's quite a bit of HF.

Oh, Donna, what are you trying to do to me?! I'll go to BCO and not want a single $1.99 book, but 15 of the regularly priced books will somehow find their way into my cart. Aargh...

I really do have a BCO addiction. I place an order there at least twice a month. That would probably explain why I already have all of the $1.99 books, lol. I've been waiting to see if any of the Jude Morgan books will be placed in a sale because BCO always has so many of them. I'll go see!

Thanks, Donna! My husband, bookshelves, and debit cards might not thank you, but I do. ;-)

ETA: Two of Morgan's books ARE in the 1.99 sale! "Passion" and "Symphony" Yay!

Gee, thanks, Donna, thanks a lot. Apparently, according to Bookcloseouts, I just saved over $100 by ordering -- a very interesting method of accounting. Really, I just love when stores tell you how much you've saved by spending money. (It's the new New Math -- where's Tom Lehrer when you need him?)  So, in case the package comes before I have a chance to hide it from hubby, I'll just say, "hey, I actually saved lots of money!" (or, I'll say, "It's Donna's fault.";))

ETA: And where was Valli, with her coupon code, 15 minutes ago??? Oh, well....

Sorry, Deb! Any time you buy from BCO, google for a coupon code. They always have the 5 off 35 and I can usually find the 10 off 60 too. I didn't look for the 10 off 60 this time because I didn't buy much.

Actually, I did google but none of the codes I tried worked. Next time, I'll PM you first!

OK, I'll take the blame that you spent money, but you have to tell us what you bought.

I'm going to have to find a new hiding spot for these books.

Deb, I have a different method of accounting too.  I have to order lots and lots of books to balance out the shipping and handling.  The more books, the less shipping I pay per book, therefore more savings.  That's going to be my argument with hubby.  Maybe I'll just leave my explanation in a note on the box so he can "find" it.  =)

Thanks Donna!

Ladies, ladies, there is no reason for the hubby to ever see the boxes of books. You figure out and remember exactly how long it takes packages from different book stores to arrive at your home. Then, you always make your purchases so that the deliveries occur on your husband's work days.

Geez, I'm working with a bunch of amateurs here. :-)

Every time I read a forum discussion, it costs me money. My DH said, "I thought this site was supposed to save money and get rid of all of these books. What happened?". There's not much I can say in my defense because books show up at the house almost every day and I have spent some money.

Oh, Karen, Karen, Karen -- you should have heeded my warning when you had the chance. Now you are forever doomed to ever-lengthening wish lists and mountainous TBR stacks. Just tell your DH that the more money you spend, the more you save! ( It's the new New Math -- see my post above). And, as Valli pointed out, it really helps to sneak those packages in when hubby's not around.:)

I know just how you feel, Karen. My DH appears to be resigned to the books now. Whenever a package comes in from PBS, he just looks at me and I say, "well it didn't cost me anything."  Every now and then when he sees me trekking to the P. O. with a handful of books to mail, he will say "how much are we spending on postage?" That's when I let him have it and remind him that I am not into jewels, fancy wines, new cars, frequent vacations, yada-yada-yada. The boxes that come from BCO or The Book Depository, Amazon or  Alibris, kind of look like PBS packages, so I just don't offer up any more info.

I'd really like to know where Deb keeps finding these pictures of me. Damn, I'm hot, even in prison garb.

Really, I don't even bother hiding boxes of books from my husband any longer. If he even looks like he's thinking about saying something about my box of books, I just clutch the box to my chest and snarl at him. After the unfortunate loss of several fingers, he learned to back off pretty quickly.

It's not my husband who gives me a hard time....it's my kids.  My daughter came in the other day when I had my book spreadsheet open.  I'm notorious for having a spreadsheet for every important thing.  She rolled her eyes and said in that sassy, your-embarrassing-me voice, "Mom.  I can't believe you have a spreadsheet for your books."  I said, "Of course I do...How else am I supposed to keep up with what's coming in, what's going out, what I plan to read...." and she screamed, "YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO GET TO THAT POINT!"  This coming from the child who comes to me with her college book list every semester to see what I can get for "free" from PBS.  That's when I get to roll MY eyes at her!

I'm sending this quote to my husband with a note explaining that these are my new friends and a suggestion that maybe he should look into some protective gear.

I'd think twice on that, Shannon. He may ban you from PBS!  LOL!

I haven't even looked at BCO (despite the evil temptresses here encouraging me to do so) because my DH will freak if I buy another book.  I had pre-ordered some stuff from Amazon last month and suddenly stuff is available and being shipped.  That's 4 books in a week, plus the few I've gotten off PBS.  I may be bold, but I'm not a fool. I'll back off until the end of the month. Then it'll be my b-day and I can justify all book and exercise equipment/videos as b-day gifts to myself.  :P
