Dear Fellow Readers,

I list "No Bookcrossing books" as a condition when I request books. (http://www.bookcrossing.com/ for info)Bookcrossing books are stamped to indicate they are bookcrossing books. I find this annoying.

Please PM me (or any other requestor) if you are unsure of what a condition means before canceling the request. I will happily explain exactly what I mean.

I lost out on some books I had really been looking forward to reading and I am sad.

Requester Conditions do not include a means to PM the Requester.  On top of this, there is no "requiring" that a Sender contact a Requester.  You can include your nickname so that IF a Sender would like to contact you they can, but you cannot insist that a Sender contact you for clarification.

Also, apparently some folk are morally offened by any RC. They'll cancel the request out of...spite? Moral indignation?

Put a line in your RCs with a link to  the Book Crosssing site.  Something like:

"If you do not know what Book Crossing is, see http:www.bookcrossing.com" (or whatever their address is)

That way they can better understand what it means, and you are covering yourself.

Good luck!

I have a similar RC... No Bookcrossing books or books with any stickers in general.  Definitely make sure you include your Nickname or a way that the people you are requesting from CAN contact you... otherwise they have to agree to the RC before they get the option to PM you.  So alot of people, rather than risk accepting the RC before knowing exactly what you mean, will just outright cancel.  I put my Nickname and have gotten a ton of PMs from members just completely unaware of what Bookcrossing is...
