I have a question about a book I just rec'd.  The sender wrapped it in plain paper (printer paper) with no plastic or protection around it.  It is torrentially raining in this part of the country and the book is now REALLY wet, like I want to try blow drying it, wet.  Do I mark this rec'd with a problem due to the sender or to the PO?

ETA I'm wondering about this cuz I rec'd another book today too, it was wrapped in plastic and put in a bubble mailer and it came through just perfectly.

What a shame, Michelle!

This is what the help docs say:

Damaged by USPS

  • This means that the book's poor condition appears to be the result of its journey in the mail.
  • This includes books that appear to have been poorly packaged for Mailing by the sender.

So you should mark it damaged by USPS.  You should also include info about what happened in the message to sender that goes out when you mark it mailed, with a gentle suggestion about plastic inner wrap (which isn't required here, but is a good idea.)
