Hi all,

First (and hopefully last!) time this has happened to me.  I received a note tonight that a book I sent was damaged by the USPS.   The receiver was nice and even stated that it wasn't my fault;  she said it looked like the package was threaded through a machine.  I wrapped carefully, per PBS guidelines (member since early 2008).

This is showing as unresolved in my transaction history and that worries me ... what to do now?

Thanks in advance!

Trish

Maybe she doesn't know to mark it resolved.  PM her and ask her to do that .

Hi Ruth, how does she mark it resolved?  This has never happened to me.  Thanks!

If she's already filled out the check-in survey, she goes to her Transaction Archive which is on the main Your Account page and click on Transaction Archive...then she scroll down to the transaction between you and she clicks on the box on the right and a page with options comes up one of which is "Resolved"

One more question -- what happens if recipient doesn't mark the transaction as resolved?   I don't want a mark on my account, esp. since she said this happened due to USPS handling.

Nothing will happen to your account, even if the issue remains unresolved. PBS knows that you do not control the activities of your post office.

The only question could be, if it happens alot, could your packaging be contributing to the problem? And, if that is the case, then probably people would have put it in their original PM to you, if they thought that was true.

I don't think you need to worry about it.

Thanks for your note.  I packed per PBS instructions (have sent over 100 books) so I think this was strictly a USPS handling thing.   I appreciate the help and response.   The receiver was very nice about the damage.
